State-owned NBCC Ltd reported a 17 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to INR 158 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year. The company had recorded a consolidated net profit of INR 135.03 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. However, consolidated total income declined to INR 2,320.90 crore from INR 2,465.48 crore. NBCC operates across project management consultancy and real estate, with its wider business also covering redevelopment, infrastructure and overseas projects. The company entered the current financial year with a sizeable order book and continued project activity.
State-owned NBCC Ltd reported a 17 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to INR 158 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with INR 135.03 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The results were reported earlier this week through a regulatory filing.
Despite the improvement in profit, the company's consolidated total income declined to INR 2,320.90 crore during the quarter from INR 2,465.48 crore in the year-ago period. This represents a decline of about 5.9 per cent year-on-year. The results indicate that NBCC's profit growth during the quarter came despite lower overall income compared with the same period last year.
NBCC entered the current financial year with a consolidated order book of around INR 1,27,820 crore at the end of the previous financial year. The company had secured business worth INR 18,780 crore on a consolidated basis during FY 2025-26. Its consolidated total income for FY 2025-26 stood at INR 13,195.89 crore, while consolidated profit after tax was INR 742.45 crore.
The company's project management consultancy business remains its largest operating area. NBCC's current business activities include institutional, housing and industrial projects, redevelopment of government colonies and vacant land parcels, roads, hospitals, medical colleges, offices, airports and bridges. It also undertakes overseas projects and engineering, procurement and construction work.
The company has also continued to secure new work during the current financial year. Its official disclosures show several work orders received during the quarter and in the weeks following it, including orders worth INR 501.45 crore and INR 85.64 crore.
Alongside project management consultancy, NBCC is involved in real estate development and redevelopment. Its business strategy has included redevelopment projects, public sector land monetisation and real estate development.
The company has also been involved in commercial property activity. Earlier this year, NBCC concluded an e-auction of commercial built-up space at Bharat Business Park in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi, as part of its property-related activities.
NBCC's overseas portfolio includes projects in countries such as Seychelles, Maldives and Mauritius. Its ongoing overseas assignments include social housing, police and government facilities and other public infrastructure projects.
