Synopsis

ITC Hotels Limited has signed a management agreement for Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui, a 117-key hotel that will expand its presence in Uttarakhand and strengthen the Welcomhotel brand in North India. The project, being developed in partnership with Orions Hospitality, marks the company's second Welcomhotel signing in Dehradun under its asset-right strategy. The hotel will comprise guest rooms, multiple dining venues and over 45,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor event space, catering to business travellers, leisure guests and the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) segment. Located in Selaqui, an emerging commercial and industrial corridor of Dehradun, the project is expected to benefit from growing tourism, infrastructure development and improving regional connectivity, while complementing ITC Hotels' recently opened Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels Madhuban Dehradun.

ITC Hotels Limited has signed a management agreement for the development of Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui, a 117-key hospitality project that will strengthen the company's presence in Uttarakhand and expand its Welcomhotel portfolio in North India.
The project marks ITC Hotels' second Welcomhotel signing in Dehradun and will be developed under the company's asset-right business model through a partnership with Orions Hospitality. The company said the signing forms part of its strategy to expand its branded hospitality portfolio across business and leisure destinations without directly owning the underlying real estate assets.
The upcoming hotel will comprise 117 guest rooms and suites along with multiple food and beverage outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop speciality restaurant and a lounge bar.
The development will also include more than 20,000 sq ft of indoor banquet facilities and approximately 25,000 sq ft of landscaped outdoor lawns. According to the company, these facilities have been planned to cater to weddings, conferences, corporate events and other social gatherings, in addition to regular hospitality operations.
Commenting on the signing, Anil Chadha, Managing Director of ITC Hotels Limited, said the Welcomhotel brand aims to reflect the local character of each destination while maintaining the company's hospitality standards. He stated that Dehradun continues to emerge as an important destination for both business and leisure travel, and that the partnership with Orions Hospitality is expected to contribute to the region's hospitality sector.
Rashmi Garg, Proprietor of Orions Hospitality, said the project is intended to cater to the changing requirements of travellers as well as the increasing demand for destination weddings, corporate events and food and beverage experiences. She added that the collaboration with ITC Hotels is expected to position the development within the premium hospitality segment.
Located in Selaqui, the hotel is situated within one of Dehradun's developing commercial and industrial corridors. The city has witnessed growing economic activity across sectors including education, manufacturing and services, while continuing to serve as an entry point to major tourist destinations such as Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Haridwar.
According to the company, improving infrastructure, better connectivity and increasing visitor numbers have contributed to rising demand for branded hospitality assets across the region. The new project will complement the recently opened Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels Madhuban Dehradun, further expanding the company's footprint in the state.
The signing also reflects continued investment by hotel operators in Tier II cities and emerging tourism destinations, where rising domestic travel, expanding business activity and demand for organised hospitality infrastructure are supporting the development of new branded hotel projects. Upon completion, Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui will add to ITC Hotels' managed portfolio while strengthening its presence in Uttarakhand's growing hospitality market.
