Knowledge Economic City (KEC) has awarded a construction contract worth SAR 117.6 million to Astra Construction Company for the Riyadh Schools Complex. The contract covers architectural works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) installations, and external development works for the project. The construction is scheduled to be completed within 10 months. The latest award adds to KEC's ongoing development activities, with the company continuing to roll out contracts across its mixed-use projects in Saudi Arabia as part of its broader development plans.
Knowledge Economic City (KEC) has signed a contract worth SAR 117.6 million with Astra Construction Company for the execution of works at the Riyadh Schools Complex, according to a regulatory filing.
The contract covers architectural works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) installations, along with external works for the buildings within the Riyadh Schools Complex. The project has been awarded with a construction period of 10 months.
The Riyadh Schools Complex forms part of Knowledge Economic City's broader development programme, under which the company has been awarding construction packages for different components of its projects. Earlier this year, KEC had also appointed Astra Construction Company for structural and embedded MEP works at the same school complex under a separate contract, indicating the project's phased execution.
Knowledge Economic City has also been advancing other developments within its portfolio. Over the past year, the company awarded construction contracts for the Islamic World District project in Madinah as it continued expanding its mixed-use developments that include residential, hospitality, education and commercial components.
The newly signed contract further strengthens the construction pipeline at the Riyadh Schools Complex, with Astra Construction responsible for delivering the architectural finishing, MEP systems and external infrastructure required for the educational facilities.
