The lender's EB segment, comprising affordable housing finance and small-ticket loans, recorded more than double the disbursements of the corresponding quarter last year. He added that the expansion of the lender's operations across southern India had supported healthy growth in the Emerging Business segment during the first quarter.
Commenting on the company's outlook, Lakshminarayanan said Sundaram Home Finance would continue to focus on smaller towns, where it sees significant potential for affordable housing finance, particularly in Tier III and Tier IV markets. He added that the company plans to expand its Emerging Business network by opening 25 additional branches during the current financial year to strengthen its reach in these locations.
He further stated that the company expects its prime home finance business to record steady growth during the year, with continued emphasis on the mid-income housing segment.
