Synopsis

Kalind Ltd has entered into a strategic agreement with UK-based Dharan International Limited to jointly explore and execute infrastructure opportunities across Africa. The partnership establishes a framework for identifying, bidding for and delivering government as well as private-sector projects across the continent. Under the arrangement, Dharan International will be responsible for sourcing and coordinating business opportunities, while Kalind will contribute technical expertise, project credentials and undertake subcontract work wherever required. The collaboration is expected to strengthen Kalind's international presence and expand its participation in Africa's growing infrastructure sector.

Infrastructure company Kalind Ltd has signed a framework agreement with UK-based Dharan International Limited to jointly explore infrastructure business opportunities across Africa.
The company said the agreement, which became effective earlier this week, is aimed at creating a structured partnership to identify, bid for and execute infrastructure projects in both the government and private sectors across African countries.
According to Kalind, the Framework Teaming and Conditional Subcontracting Agreement is expected to improve the company's ability to participate in infrastructure projects across the continent by combining the strengths of both organisations.
Under the arrangement, Dharan International will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and coordinating project development activities. Kalind, on the other hand, will provide its technical expertise, approved project credentials and, where required, execute subcontracted work after the successful award of projects.
The partnership comes as several African countries continue to invest in transport, energy, water and urban infrastructure, creating opportunities for international engineering and infrastructure companies. Indian infrastructure firms have also been expanding their overseas footprint in recent years by participating in projects across emerging markets, including Africa.
Kalind said the collaboration is expected to strengthen its international business prospects by allowing it to jointly pursue projects that require combined technical capabilities and execution experience.
