The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) participated in the Maharashtra Government's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mahaswa Samadhan Abhiyan by setting up information stalls on more than 50 civic welfare schemes under its Social Development Department. The outreach camps were organised between 22 July and 2 August 2026 across Assembly constituencies to improve access to government services and welfare programmes. In Navi Mumbai, camps were held at Ghansoli and Nerul, where residents received information on municipal initiatives alongside government certificates issued by the Thane District Collectorate and Revenue Department. The initiative forms part of a broader state effort to extend public welfare services to a larger section of citizens.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) participated in the Maharashtra Government's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mahaswa Samadhan Abhiyan by disseminating information on more than 50 civic welfare schemes through dedicated stalls established by its Social Development Department. The initiative was undertaken under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde as part of the state-wide outreach programme aimed at improving public access to government welfare schemes and citizen services.
The campaign is being conducted across Maharashtra between 22 July and 2 August 2026, with district administrations organising camps in every Assembly constituency. The programme coincides with the birthday of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the birth anniversary of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Anantrao Pawar. It is intended to ensure that government welfare schemes and public service initiatives reach beneficiaries across all sections of society.
Within the NMMC jurisdiction, camps were organised for residents of Zone 2 at the Ghansoli Samaj Mandir Hall on 22 July and at the Matrumilan Church Hall in Sector 42A, Seawoods, Nerul, on 26 July. At both locations, the municipal corporation's Social Development Department operated dedicated information counters to create awareness about the civic body's welfare initiatives and encourage citizens to avail themselves of the available schemes.
The civic body stated that officials provided information on more than 50 public welfare schemes administered by the municipal corporation and appealed to residents to disseminate details of these programmes to ensure that a larger number of eligible beneficiaries could access them.
The inaugural programme at the Ghansoli camp was attended by Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik, Navi Mumbai Mayor Sujata Suraj Patil, Deputy Mayor Dashrath Bhagat and other public representatives. The inauguration of the Nerul camp was attended by Belapur MLA Manda Mhatre along with other elected representatives.
Alongside the awareness activities conducted by NMMC, the Thane District Collectorate and the Revenue Department provided a range of government services during the camps. Eligible residents received documents including income certificates, caste certificates, domicile certificates and marriage registration certificates.
The municipal corporation said its participation in the campaign was intended to improve public awareness of civic welfare programmes while complementing the state government's broader objective of delivering essential services and welfare benefits to citizens through decentralised outreach initiatives across Maharashtra.
