Synopsis

Welspun One has leased approximately 15,000 sq ft of space at its Grade-A Urban Distribution Centre within the World Trade Centre (WTC) Thane to Novel Jewels Ltd, an Aditya Birla Group company. Announced in the past week, the lease will enable Novel Jewels to establish its storage and distribution operations closer to key consumption markets across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The transaction highlights increasing demand for institutional-grade logistics facilities capable of supporting businesses handling high-value inventory with enhanced security, operational continuity and scalability. Developed as a mixed-use business ecosystem, WTC Thane integrates urban distribution, commercial spaces, workplaces and supporting infrastructure, catering to occupiers seeking efficient last-mile connectivity within one location.

Welspun One has leased around 15,000 sq ft at its Grade-A Urban Distribution Centre within the World Trade Centre (WTC), Thane, to Novel Jewels Ltd, an Aditya Birla Group company. The transaction, announced in the past week, will enable the jewellery business to establish its storage and distribution operations at the facility, strengthening access to major consumption markets across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
Novel Jewels will use the leased space at WTC Thane as a distribution hub, allowing it to serve customers across the region through improved proximity to urban markets. The facility has been developed to support businesses that require efficient logistics infrastructure while maintaining high standards of security and operational reliability.
Developed by Welspun One, WTC Thane has been positioned as a mixed-use ecosystem that combines urban distribution facilities, commercial spaces, workplaces and business infrastructure within a single development. The project is designed to support occupiers seeking integrated logistics and business operations in a strategically located urban environment.
Commenting on the transaction, Neeraj Balani, Chief Customer Officer at Welspun One, said the agreement with Novel Jewels demonstrated the flexibility of the platform in serving businesses dealing with high-value products that require secure, accessible and operationally efficient infrastructure. He added that WTC Thane provides direct access to key consumption markets, enabling businesses to remain closer to their customers.
Welspun One stated that the lease reflects the growing preference among companies managing high-value inventory for institutional-grade logistics infrastructure that combines security, business continuity, scalability and proximity to demand centres. According to the company, such facilities are becoming increasingly important as occupiers seek integrated solutions capable of supporting storage and distribution requirements within urban locations.
The distribution centre incorporates advanced security systems, life-safety measures and business continuity infrastructure designed to safeguard valuable inventory while ensuring uninterrupted operations. The facility has also been equipped with operational features intended to meet the specific requirements of businesses where inventory protection and resilience are critical.
Dinesh Dubey, Chief Operating Officer, Incity, and Head of Product Innovation at Welspun One, said WTC Thane had been planned as an integrated ecosystem where logistics infrastructure, workplaces and commercial facilities complement one another, enabling occupiers to improve operational efficiency.
The latest leasing transaction adds another occupier to WTC Thane and reflects continued demand for Grade-A urban logistics facilities in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, particularly from businesses requiring secure and strategically located distribution infrastructure for high-value goods.
