Synopsis

Bank of Baroda has introduced a series of new digital banking and customer service initiatives as part of its 119th foundation day celebrations, strengthening its focus on technology, retail banking and MSME services. In separate developments, Bajaj Life Insurance has launched a new index fund linked to the Nifty 200 Value 30 Index for ULIP policyholders, while ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund has introduced a new exchange-traded fund tracking the BSE Insurance Index. These launches reflect the continued expansion of digital banking and investment offerings across India's financial sector.

State-owned Bank of Baroda has launched a range of new initiatives across its digital banking, retail and MSME businesses as part of its 119th foundation day celebrations, further strengthening its technology-driven banking services.
According to the bank, the newly introduced initiatives include a new mobile banking platform, a Global Capability Innovation and Transformation Centre, a Virtual Front Office and a facility that enables customers to make international Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payments. The bank said these initiatives are aimed at improving customer experience while enhancing digital banking capabilities across its network.
Bank of Baroda has been steadily expanding its digital ecosystem over the past few years by introducing technology-led banking services, strengthening digital payment infrastructure and improving customer accessibility through mobile and online platforms. The latest launches are part of the lender's broader efforts to modernise banking operations while supporting retail customers and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
In a separate announcement, Bajaj Life Insurance launched its New Fund Offer (NFO), the Bajaj Life Nifty 200 Value 30 Index Fund, for unit-linked insurance plan (ULIP) policyholders.
The insurer said the fund has been designed to provide long-term capital appreciation by tracking the Nifty 200 Value 30 Index. The index comprises 30 companies selected from the broader Nifty 200 universe based on value characteristics, allowing policyholders to gain exposure to fundamentally valued companies through their ULIP investments.
Separately, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund introduced the BSE Insurance ETF, an open-ended exchange-traded fund (ETF) that tracks the BSE Insurance Index.
The fund house said the ETF offers investors a low-cost and transparent investment avenue to participate in the performance of leading life, general and health insurance companies listed in India. The New Fund Offer (NFO) will remain open for subscription until July 28, allowing investors to invest during the offer period.
The launch comes as passive investment products such as ETFs and index funds continue to gain traction among investors due to their lower costs, transparency and diversified market exposure. At the same time, financial institutions are expanding their product portfolios to cater to evolving customer preferences across banking, insurance and investment segments.
