Synopsis

Deep-tech startup Airbound has signed a memorandum of understanding with Andhra Pradesh Drone Corporation to develop a drone delivery network across the Amaravati Capital Region. The initiative will connect Amaravati, Vijayawada and Guntur through drone-based logistics services covering healthcare, e-commerce and commercial deliveries. The project will begin with pilot operations and route mapping before expanding into interconnected drone corridors. The partners aim to enable 10,000 daily drone flights across Andhra Pradesh over the coming year, supporting faster deliveries, improved connectivity, investment opportunities and growth in the state's emerging drone ecosystem.

Bengaluru-based deep-tech startup Airbound has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Andhra Pradesh Drone Corporation (APDC) to develop a scalable drone delivery network across the Amaravati Capital Region.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu. Under the proposed Amaravati Capital Region Drone Delivery Network (ACR DDN), Airbound will work with stakeholders across healthcare, logistics and e-commerce sectors to support drone operations connecting Amaravati, Vijayawada and Guntur.
According to the company, the project will be rolled out in phases, beginning with pilot operations, route mapping, ecosystem partnerships and regulatory coordination. The long-term plan includes developing interconnected drone corridors across the Amaravati Capital Region.
The collaboration aims to improve the movement of healthcare supplies, commercial goods and critical deliveries while strengthening mid-mile connectivity and operational efficiency in urban and semi-urban areas. The initiative is also expected to create opportunities for investment, employment generation, innovation and ecosystem development in Andhra Pradesh's growing drone sector.
Operations are expected to begin in Guntur, with Airbound and APDC targeting 10,000 drone flights per day across the state over the next year. The companies said this scale could place Andhra Pradesh among the world's largest commercial drone delivery networks.
Speaking on the development, Naidu said the partnership demonstrates India's capability in next-generation aviation and reflects how home-grown technology can be designed, developed and scaled domestically to improve connectivity and create economic opportunities.
The company said the collaboration aligns with Andhra Pradesh's efforts to position itself as a hub for drone innovation and advanced logistics.
Airbound manufactures blended-wing-body tailsitter aircraft built using lightweight carbon fibre. The company stated that its aircraft are designed for large-scale aerial logistics and can deliver goods at costs significantly lower than conventional transport methods while providing faster and more reliable delivery services across diverse geographies.
APDC Managing Director and Chairman Geetanjali Sharma said the partnership is expected to help establish a new logistics framework for the state through drone-based deliveries.
Airbound Founder and Chief Executive Officer Naman Pushp said Andhra Pradesh has the ambition and ecosystem needed to lead the next phase of logistics and aerial mobility. He added that the company's objective is to build a network where drones can move individual packages directly between locations with efficiency comparable to large freight transport systems.
The company said it aims to develop one of India's largest drone logistics networks through the collaboration, with delivery costs potentially falling to as low as 10 pence per kilometre.
