Synopsis

Knauf India has reinforced its expansion strategy in North-East India through a dealers’ meet held in Guwahati, bringing together channel partners, dealers and senior company executives to discuss growth opportunities across the region’s construction sector. The engagement forms part of the company’s broader efforts to deepen its presence across the Seven Sister States amid rising urbanisation, residential development and infrastructure investment. Senior leadership highlighted the importance of strengthening dealer networks and promoting modern construction technologies, while product demonstrations showcased the company’s drywall and ceiling solutions. The initiative comes as government-backed infrastructure programmes and growing construction activity across cities such as Guwahati, Shillong and Agartala continue to create opportunities for building material manufacturers seeking to expand their regional footprint.

Knauf India has stepped up its focus on North-East India with a dealers’ meet in Guwahati, signalling the company's intent to strengthen channel partnerships and expand its presence across the region amid growing construction and infrastructure activity.
The event brought together dealers, channel partners and senior company executives to discuss market opportunities, product adoption and long-term business growth across the Seven Sister States. The company said the engagement forms part of its strategy to build a stronger regional network while supporting evolving construction requirements in the North-East.
Senior leadership attending the meeting included Vijay Mishra, Commercial Director; Gaunik Singh, Marketing Director; and Neeraj Bhatia, Sales Director for North and East India. The participation of the company's leadership team reflected the importance being assigned to the region within Knauf India's broader growth plans.
Dealer partners including RR Enterprises, Galaxy International and Shyam Glass participated in discussions centred on the changing construction landscape and emerging demand drivers. Conversations focused on residential development, urban expansion and infrastructure investments that are contributing to construction activity across cities such as Guwahati, Shillong and Agartala.
According to the company, the North-East is witnessing increasing demand for modern construction materials as urbanisation accelerates and public infrastructure projects gather pace. The region has also attracted greater attention from private developers seeking opportunities in residential and commercial real estate.
Vijay Mishra said the North-East continues to offer significant long-term potential due to its young demographic profile, urban growth and increasing adoption of modern building practices. He noted that the Guwahati engagement reflected the company's commitment to building stronger relationships with channel partners while supporting market development in the region.
As part of the programme, Knauf India conducted product demonstrations and technical sessions showcasing its drywall and ceiling solutions. The company presented its Sheetrock plasterboard systems and Aquapanel cement board products, with the sessions aimed at helping dealers better understand application techniques, product specifications and market opportunities.
The event also focused on enhancing dealer capabilities through knowledge-sharing initiatives designed to improve product awareness and support the adoption of advanced construction systems. Company representatives said strengthening dealer expertise remains an important element of its regional expansion strategy.
Knauf India's increased focus on the North-East comes at a time when government-backed infrastructure programmes are driving construction activity across the region. Initiatives such as the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) have contributed to investments in transport, connectivity and urban infrastructure projects.
The company believes these developments are creating favourable conditions for wider adoption of modern building materials and construction technologies. Through its expanding dealer network and regional engagement initiatives, Knauf India aims to strengthen its position within the North-East construction market while supporting the region's ongoing infrastructure and real estate development.
