Following this award, GK Energy's cumulative orders from MSEDCL have reached INR 637.83 crore. The initiative aims to expand solar-powered irrigation infrastructure, providing farmers with a reliable renewable energy source while reducing dependence on conventional electricity.
GK Energy has secured an INR 235.92 crore contract from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) to install 10,000 solar-powered agricultural water pumping systems across Maharashtra under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana. The company announced the order on Monday, stating that the project will be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the work order or Notice to Proceed (NTP).
According to an exchange filing, the contract covers the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of solar-powered agricultural pumping systems with capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP. The pumps will be deployed at locations across Maharashtra as part of the state's programme to expand access to solar-powered irrigation infrastructure.
The company said the latest award increases the cumulative value of orders received from MSEDCL to INR 637.83 crore. It added that the continued flow of projects reflects its ongoing participation in renewable energy infrastructure initiatives being implemented across the state.
The Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana is intended to expand the use of solar-powered irrigation systems by providing farmers with a dependable source of energy for agricultural operations. The deployment of solar pumps is expected to reduce reliance on conventional electricity while supporting wider adoption of renewable energy in the agricultural sector.
GK Energy stated that the project will involve end-to-end execution, including equipment manufacturing, logistics, installation, testing and commissioning, within the stipulated timeline specified under the contract.
The company has continued to expand its renewable energy footprint across India. As of March 2026, it had deployed more than 140,000 renewable energy systems with a cumulative installed capacity exceeding 617 MW.
According to the company, its operations extend across more than 7,500 villages nationwide, where it has implemented renewable energy projects supporting decentralised power generation. The latest contract further strengthens its order book in Maharashtra's agricultural solar infrastructure segment as the state continues to promote renewable energy solutions for irrigation and rural power access.
