A delegation from Singapore completed a two-day visit to Amaravati to gain first-hand knowledge of the Andhra Pradesh capital city's development, infrastructure progress, and investment opportunities. The visit was organised by the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), which presented the city's master plan and ongoing development initiatives. The engagement comes as the state government continues to revive and accelerate work on the Amaravati capital project after construction activities resumed over the past year.
During the first day of the visit, APCRDA officials hosted the delegation at the authority's headquarters in Rayapudi. The officials provided a detailed presentation on the Amaravati project, outlining the city's master plan, planned infrastructure, urban development strategy, and the overall vision for the capital region. The delegation was also briefed on the various phases of development and the opportunities available for future investment.
On the second day, the delegation visited several major project sites across Amaravati. These included Shakhamuru Park, the trunk infrastructure road network, and the Government Complex currently under construction, comprising the Secretariat Towers, residential bungalows, and the MLA and MLC Towers. APCRDA officials explained the construction progress at each site and discussed investment opportunities being created as the capital city's infrastructure develops.
The visit formed part of Andhra Pradesh's efforts to engage with international institutions and organisations while showcasing Amaravati's progress as a planned greenfield capital city. In recent months, the state government has renewed its focus on completing key infrastructure works, inviting investments, and strengthening partnerships to support the city's long-term development.
The Singapore delegation included Yeo Siew Haip, Zhou Yimin, and Lineswala Darshan Jayeshkumar from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Francis Chong from Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), and Tay Lian Chew and Nisha Sharda from the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE).
