State-owned National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the planning, design and construction of a new Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi. The agreement, announced in the past week, envisages the development of the government facility at an estimated project cost of INR 105.5 crore, excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST) and project management consultancy (PMC) charges.
The proposed Andhra Pradesh Bhavan will be developed with a total built-up area of nearly 2.5 lakh sq ft. The project is intended to provide a new administrative and accommodation facility for the Andhra Pradesh government in the national capital.
According to NBCC, the project will be executed on a turnkey deposit work basis. Under this model, the company will undertake the entire scope of work, including planning, architectural design, engineering, construction and project execution, on behalf of the state government.
NBCC has been appointed as the designated executing agency for the development and will be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of the project, from the initial planning and design stages through construction and final delivery.
The company stated that the estimated project cost of INR 105.5 crore does not include GST or PMC charges, which will be accounted for separately in accordance with the project requirements.
NBCC is a public sector enterprise engaged in project management consultancy and real estate development. The company executes a range of government infrastructure projects, including institutional buildings, residential developments, commercial complexes and redevelopment projects across India.
The agreement with the Government of Andhra Pradesh adds to NBCC's portfolio of public sector infrastructure assignments, with the company continuing to undertake construction projects for central and state government departments and agencies under various execution models. The new Andhra Pradesh Bhavan will be developed as part of this mandate, with NBCC responsible for delivering the project in line with the agreed specifications and execution framework.
