State-owned NBCC has awarded nine construction contracts worth INR 955.13 crore during the first quarter of FY27, covering projects across Jammu & Kashmir and West Bengal. The largest order, valued at INR 334.74 crore, is for the first phase of the Central University of Kashmir campus in Ganderbal. The company has also awarded a nearly INR 200 crore township project for Damodar Valley Corporation in West Bengal. Separately, NBCC recently signed an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to construct a new Andhra Pradesh Bhawan in New Delhi at an estimated cost of INR 105.5 crore.
State-owned NBCC has awarded construction contracts worth INR 955.13 crore during the first quarter of FY27, reflecting continued execution of public infrastructure and institutional development projects across the country.
In a regulatory filing, the company said it awarded nine work contracts worth a total of INR 955.13 crore during the quarter ended June 30. However, it did not disclose the names of the contractors selected for these projects.
The largest contract, valued at INR 334.74 crore, has been awarded for Phase-1 construction of the Central University of Kashmir at its Tulmulla campus in Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir. The project will be executed on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis and is aimed at strengthening higher education infrastructure in the region.
Another major contract, worth nearly INR 200 crore, has been awarded for the construction of an integrated township at Purulia in West Bengal. The township is being developed under the Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) of Damodar Valley Corporation and includes allied infrastructure works. The project will also be executed under the EPC model.
NBCC primarily operates in the project management consultancy (PMC) and real estate segments. The company undertakes redevelopment projects, institutional buildings, residential developments, commercial complexes and infrastructure works for various central and state government departments and public sector organisations.
The contract awards come shortly after NBCC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh government for the construction of a new Andhra Pradesh Bhawan in New Delhi. The proposed building will have a built-up area of nearly 2.5 lakh square feet and is estimated to cost INR 105.5 crore, excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST) and PMC charges. The project will be executed on a turnkey deposit work basis.
In recent years, NBCC has continued to secure government-backed redevelopment and infrastructure assignments, including projects involving educational institutions, residential colonies, healthcare facilities and administrative buildings. These projects form a significant part of the company's order pipeline and support its project management and execution business.
