Synopsis

AFC Furniture Solutions has announced plans to expand its operations in Maharashtra beyond Mumbai, focusing on Pune's technology corridors and Nagpur's MIHAN industrial zone. The office furniture manufacturer expects western India to contribute 25–30% of its revenue, supported by growing demand from Global Capability Centres (GCCs), industrial occupiers and commercial developments. The expansion aligns with the Maharashtra GCC Policy 2025 and increasing office leasing activity in Pune, where GCCs accounted for 69% of total office absorption during the first quarter of 2026. The company also plans to strengthen its presence through partnerships with developers, architects and corporate occupiers across the state.

AFC Furniture Solutions has outlined plans to expand its presence across Maharashtra by targeting Pune's technology corridors and Nagpur's Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport (MIHAN), marking its move beyond the Mumbai market. The company announced the expansion on Wednesday, citing increasing demand from technology companies, Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and industrial occupiers across the two locations.
The company said it aims to generate between 25% and 30% of its overall revenue from western India. The strategy is supported by demand from more than 900 companies operating across the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and non-SEZ areas of Hinjewadi, alongside industrial activity within Nagpur's MIHAN development.
AFC Furniture Solutions linked its expansion plans with recent office market trends in Pune. Referring to data published by Cushman & Wakefield for the first quarter of 2026, the company noted that GCCs accounted for 69% of the city's total office leasing activity, with demand concentrated across Hinjewadi, Kharadi and Baner. It also stated that it has established an early presence within the MIHAN zone, where multiple companies are at different stages of operations and project readiness. In addition, the Maharashtra government is planning to develop New Nagpur into a business and financial district comparable to Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
Founder Maanoj Tomar said the Maharashtra GCC Policy 2025 reinforced the state's long-term industrial and investment plans. He noted that the policy targets the establishment of 400 new Global Capability Centres, creation of 400,000 high-skilled jobs and investments of INR 50,600 crore across Maharashtra by FY 2029–30. According to him, these policy measures supported markets that the company had already identified for future expansion.
The company currently serves several commercial projects across Mumbai, including assignments for Trilegal, Emirates, Tata Capital, WNS Mumbai, HDFC Airoli, Unity Bank, ICICI Bank, IDFC Bank and NPCI. AFC Furniture Solutions said it intends to expand its footprint across Maharashtra through additional project acquisitions, design consultancy services, execution capabilities and partnerships with developers and architects.
The company also highlighted its manufacturing capabilities, stating that its 4 lakh sq. ft. IGBC Gold-rated facility in Noida produces more than 18,000 workstations and ergonomic seating systems each month. It further noted that it supplied more than 6,000 low-emission furniture systems for the Noida International Airport project across nearly 1 lakh sq. m, achieving a recyclability rate of 66%. AFC Furniture Solutions added that, as India's first furniture manufacturer to obtain BIFMA Level 3 certification, it plans to deploy these capabilities in Pune and Nagpur as demand from GCCs and corporate occupiers continues to grow.
