Synopsis

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Private Ltd to develop InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon, strengthening its luxury hospitality presence in India’s financial capital. The 350-key hotel is expected to open in the first quarter of 2030 and will be located in Goregaon, a rapidly growing commercial and business district. The development comes as Mumbai continues to witness strong demand from both business and leisure travellers. The project also reflects IHG’s broader expansion strategy in India, where the company already operates 52 hotels and has a significant pipeline of upcoming properties.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a management agreement with Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Private Ltd for the development of InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon, marking another addition to its luxury hospitality portfolio in India.
The proposed hotel will feature 350 keys and is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2030. Located in Goregaon, one of Mumbai’s fast-growing commercial hubs, the property is expected to cater to both corporate and leisure travellers visiting the city.
Commenting on the development, IHG Hotels & Resorts Managing Director, South West Asia, Sudeep Jain said that the company was pleased to partner with Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Private Ltd to bring the InterContinental brand to Goregaon. He noted that Mumbai continues to witness strong demand from both business and leisure travel segments and added that Goregaon’s emergence as an important commercial corridor makes it a suitable location for expanding the company’s luxury hotel portfolio.
Goregaon has emerged as a key business destination in recent years, supported by the presence of corporate offices, exhibition centres, commercial developments and improving transport infrastructure. The area’s growing connectivity through metro networks and road infrastructure has further enhanced its appeal for hospitality and commercial investments.
The signing also highlights IHG’s continued focus on the Indian market, which remains one of the company’s priority growth regions. The hospitality group currently operates 52 hotels across seven brands in India and has a pipeline of 98 additional hotels expected to open over the next three to five years.
The InterContinental brand represents IHG’s luxury segment and forms part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in major metropolitan markets and high-growth business destinations across the country.
