Synopsis

• Supply chain operator Prozo has expanded its logistics presence in Maharashtra with a new 50,000 sq ft fulfilment centre in Bhiwandi, Thane district.
• The facility is designed to support FMCG, fashion and lifestyle, and healthcare distribution requirements across the state.
• With this addition, Prozo now operates seven fulfilment centres in Maharashtra, covering a total warehousing footprint of 4.1 lakh sq ft.
• The expansion reinforces Bhiwandi’s position as a key warehousing hub within western India’s logistics network.

The supply chain and logistics operator Prozo has expanded its warehousing capacity in Maharashtra with the launch of a 50,000 sq ft fulfilment centre in Bhiwandi in Thane district, aimed at strengthening its distribution network for fast-moving consumer goods, fashion and lifestyle products, and healthcare segments.
The new facility increases Prozo’s presence in the state to seven fulfilment centres, collectively spanning 4.1 lakh sq ft of warehousing space across Maharashtra, further consolidating its logistics infrastructure in one of India’s most consumption-driven markets.
Bhiwandi, located in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, continues to serve as a key warehousing and logistics hub in western India, attracting significant Grade A warehouse absorption due to its connectivity and proximity to major consumption centres.
The company stated that Maharashtra accounts for a substantial share of India’s consumption-led logistics demand, and Bhiwandi has consistently remained one of the leading markets for Grade A warehousing absorption, reinforcing its strategic importance for supply chain operators.
The expansion aligns with Prozo’s broader infrastructure build-out strategy across high-demand industrial and commercial corridors in Maharashtra, where brands operating multi-channel retail and e-commerce models require integrated fulfilment capabilities.
It currently serves a range of national and global brands, including Reliance, TMRW from the Aditya Birla Group, Bata, Relaxo and VIP’s Caprese, reflecting its positioning within India’s organised retail supply chain ecosystem.
According to the company’s founder and chief executive, the newly commissioned facility enhances its ability to serve clients operating across digital commerce, quick commerce, traditional retail and offline distribution channels, supported by a technology-led and process-driven logistics framework. He added that the Bhiwandi centre forms part of a structured network expansion strategy aimed at scaling capacity in line with rising client demand.
The development highlights the continued rise of Bhiwandi as a preferred warehousing destination for organised logistics players, driven by its connectivity within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and established industrial ecosystem.
Fulfilment centres of this nature function as integrated nodes within supply chains, enabling inventory storage, sorting and last-mile dispatch for brands operating across online and offline retail channels.
Maharashtra’s position as a consumption-led logistics market continues to drive demand for Grade A warehousing assets, particularly in micro-markets such as Bhiwandi that offer connectivity to Mumbai and surrounding urban clusters.
The expansion also underlines the increasing requirement from retail and consumer brands for agile supply chain infrastructure capable of supporting high-velocity distribution models across multiple sales channels.
