Synopsis

More than 100 acres of land were voluntarily offered by farmers from four villages for the development of Amaravati under the land pooling scheme. Farmers from Thullur, Rayapudi, Lingayapalem and Velagapudi submitted consent documents to the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), expressing support for the capital city's development. The landowners said they were pleased to contribute to the project and encouraged other farmers in capital region villages to participate in the pooling process. The latest contribution adds to the ongoing land aggregation efforts aimed at advancing infrastructure and urban development in Amaravati.

Farmers from villages within the Amaravati capital region voluntarily pooled more than 100 acres of land for the development of the capital city under the land pooling scheme.
A large number of farmers visited the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) office and submitted consent documents for land pooling. The documents were handed over to APCRDA Additional Commissioner A. Bhargava Teja, IAS, and other competent authorities overseeing the process.
The participating farmers belonged to Thullur, Rayapudi, Lingayapalem and Velagapudi villages. They stated that they were happy to contribute to the development of Amaravati and viewed their participation as a contribution to the growth of the state's capital city. The farmers also appealed to other landowners in capital region villages to come forward and cooperate with APCRDA in the ongoing development programme.
In total, 100.885 acres of land were brought under the land pooling scheme during the day. Among the villages, Velagapudi accounted for the largest share with 43.22 acres, followed by Rayapudi with 31.005 acres. Farmers from Lingayapalem pooled 16.90 acres, while those from Thullur contributed 9.76 acres.
The land pooling model has been a key component of Amaravati's development strategy since the capital project was initiated. Under the mechanism, farmers voluntarily contribute land for urban development and receive developed plots and other benefits in return. The approach enabled the government to assemble large land parcels for infrastructure and city-building activities without direct land acquisition.
The latest round of participation reflects continued engagement by sections of farmers in the Amaravati region as authorities move ahead with plans for the capital city's development and infrastructure expansion.
