Vale do Lobo, the luxury resort in Portugal's Algarve region, has unveiled an expanded programme of sports, leisure and family-oriented activities for the summer season, reflecting growing demand for activity-led holidays among families. The resort's summer schedule includes junior golf and tennis academies, family entertainment programmes, live performances, cultural events and recreational facilities designed for visitors of all age groups. Located near Faro Airport, the destination is promoting a range of sports and lifestyle amenities alongside accommodation offers available through September. The initiative is aimed at families seeking holidays centred on active participation, skill development and shared experiences, with facilities spanning golf, tennis, swimming, mini golf, dining and outdoor recreation.
Vale do Lobo has introduced an expanded programme of sports, recreation and family entertainment activities for the summer season as demand grows for activity-based holidays that combine leisure with skill development and outdoor experiences.
The Algarve-based resort has positioned its summer offering around what the travel industry increasingly describes as "playcations", where families incorporate sports, hobbies and interactive activities into their holiday plans. The programme includes dedicated sports academies, recreational facilities and family-focused entertainment designed to encourage participation across different age groups.
Among the key initiatives is the Vale do Lobo Summer Junior Golf Academy, which will host six training programmes during the summer months. Each academy will provide ten hours of golf instruction and practical training over a five-day period. The sessions will cover various aspects of the sport, including swing techniques, putting, chipping, bunker play, competition formats and golf rules. Participants will also spend time on the course to develop their skills under professional guidance.
The resort has also expanded activities through its Tennis Academy, where daily coaching sessions for children will take place between 9 am and 11 am throughout the summer holidays. The programme is open to players with varying levels of experience and focuses on technical development and game improvement.
Hernâni Estêvão, Managing Director of Vale do Lobo, stated that organised sports activities help children build confidence while encouraging long-term healthy habits. He noted that many visitors who first learnt golf and tennis at the resort during their childhood are now returning with their own families, highlighting the continued appeal of the destination's sporting facilities across generations.
The resort offers both private instruction and group coaching programmes, allowing families to tailor activities according to their interests. Additional recreational facilities include a heated swimming pool at the Tennis Academy and the ParTee mini golf course.
Beyond sports, Vale do Lobo has introduced a broad entertainment schedule centred around the Praça, the resort's social and leisure hub. Children's activities are scheduled daily during the evening and include inflatable attractions, interactive games, face painting, creative workshops, balloon modelling, temporary tattoos and themed entertainment. Additional attractions include a children's electric car circuit and a vintage Parisian carousel, which will operate until September 12.
The Praça will also host live music performances, cultural showcases, themed entertainment events and artisan exhibitions throughout the summer. Local craftspeople and exhibitors will display handmade products and lifestyle items during evening programmes.
Dining forms another component of the family-oriented offering, with restaurants across the resort serving a variety of international cuisines and casual dining options suited to different age groups.
Located within easy reach of Faro Airport, Vale do Lobo is promoting a seasonal accommodation package valid from June through September. The offer includes discounted apartment stays, complimentary accommodation for children up to 12 years of age using an additional bed, daily beach facilities and access to internal resort transport services, alongside recreational amenities such as a dedicated children's pool.
