APCRDA recently conducted a Gram Sabha in Nidamarru village as part of the land acquisition process for the development of Amaravati. Senior officials interacted with villagers and explained the ongoing land pooling and acquisition procedures. Farmers were informed that those covered under the recent land acquisition notification could still opt for the Land Pooling Scheme within the prescribed timeline. Residents also raised concerns regarding Section 22-A lands, illegal soil transportation, and traffic movement linked to construction activities. APCRDA assured villagers that their grievances would be examined while reiterating its commitment to infrastructure development across the Capital Region.
APCRDA recently conducted a Gram Sabha in Nidamarru village as part of the land acquisition process being undertaken for the development of Amaravati. The meeting was attended by APCRDA Additional Commissioners A. Bhargava Teja, IAS, and Kollabathula Karthik, IAS, along with officials from various departments.
During the interaction, Additional Commissioner A. Bhargava Teja informed villagers that land pooling had been implemented to facilitate the construction of roads, development of Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) zones, and other infrastructure projects across the capital city. He stated that while most landowners had voluntarily participated in the scheme, a section of farmers and landowners had not joined it.
He explained that APCRDA had held multiple discussions with the concerned landowners before issuing a land acquisition notification in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures. The official further clarified that farmers still have an opportunity to participate in the Land Pooling Scheme and that even those whose names were included in the recently issued notification could opt for land pooling within the stipulated period.
Several villagers raised concerns regarding lands classified under Section 22-A and requested that such properties be removed from the notified list. Responding to the issue, the Additional Commissioner directed the Tahsildar to examine the grievances related to these lands and take necessary action.
Residents also highlighted issues arising from construction-related activities in the region. Officials informed the gathering that check posts had been established to curb the illegal transportation of soil. Villagers further requested that vehicles engaged in Amaravati construction works be routed outside village limits to reduce inconvenience to local residents. APCRDA assured them that the matter would be reviewed.
The officials also informed farmers that development works are progressing in the returnable plot layouts allotted under the Land Pooling Scheme. In addition, APCRDA stated that plans for civic infrastructure development in Capital Region villages have already been prepared and are being implemented.
With construction activity across Amaravati gathering pace, APCRDA urged farmers and residents to cooperate with ongoing development efforts. Farmers who have been allotted returnable plots were also advised to complete the registration process through the designated Competent Authority offices established for the purpose.
The Gram Sabha was attended by Special Deputy Collectors G. Bhadru and L. Madhusudan, GRM Nodal Officer P. Jayashree, and other APCRDA officials.
