Synopsis

APCRDA held a Gram Sabha in Undavalli village to discuss land acquisition and land pooling for the Amaravati Capital City project. Commissioner V. Vijayarama Raju informed residents that farmers whose lands are part of the recent acquisition notification can still opt for the Land Pooling Scheme within the prescribed timeframe. He also addressed concerns related to assigned and Lanka lands and assured that they would be handled as per government guidelines. APCRDA said infrastructure development across Amaravati villages is progressing and appealed to farmers to continue supporting the capital development project.

During the meeting, the Commissioner said land pooling had been undertaken for the construction of roads, LPS zones, pumping stations and other infrastructure projects in the Capital City area. He said APCRDA had conducted multiple rounds of discussions with farmers and landowners who had not initially joined the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS). Following these consultations and as per due procedure, a land acquisition notification was recently issued.
He clarified that farmers whose names appear in the acquisition notification still have an opportunity to join the Land Pooling Scheme within the stipulated period. The Commissioner added that several farmers from Undavalli had recently agreed to participate voluntarily in the scheme after APCRDA's outreach efforts.
Villagers raised concerns regarding assigned lands and Lanka lands during the Gram Sabha. In response, the Commissioner assured residents that these issues would be addressed in accordance with government directives. He also said the demand from local residents for reputed educational, healthcare and other institutions in Undavalli would be examined by the authorities.
The Commissioner noted that APCRDA has prepared and is implementing comprehensive infrastructure development plans across villages in the Amaravati Capital Region. He said construction activities under the Amaravati Development Project are progressing rapidly and appealed to farmers in the region to continue extending their cooperation to APCRDA.
Farmers who have received returnable plots were also advised to complete their registration formalities at the Competent Authority offices set up for their convenience. Officials from various APCRDA departments were present at the Gram Sabha.
The Amaravati capital development project has remained a key infrastructure initiative of the Andhra Pradesh government, with land pooling continuing to play a central role in acquiring land for roads, public utilities and urban development works across the capital region villages.
