Synopsis

CleanMax and Apple have entered into a strategic partnership to invest INR 100 crore in renewable energy projects across India targeting the commercial and industrial segment. The collaboration is aimed at accelerating deployment of clean energy infrastructure and supporting decarbonisation initiatives among corporate users. According to the companies, the investment will support development of scalable renewable energy assets aligned with long-term carbon reduction objectives and corporate sustainability commitments. The partnership also supports Apple’s broader carbon neutrality targets while strengthening CleanMax’s position as a renewable energy provider for industrial and commercial consumers across India and other international markets.

CleanMax and Apple have partnered to invest INR 100 crore towards development of renewable energy projects across India as part of efforts to expand clean energy deployment within the commercial and industrial sector.

According to an exchange filing issued earlier this week, the two entities have entered into a strategic co-investment arrangement focused on accelerating decarbonisation initiatives through large-scale renewable energy infrastructure development.

The companies stated that the partnership would support deployment of clean energy projects catering specifically to commercial and industrial consumers across multiple locations in India. The investment is intended to facilitate transition towards lower-carbon energy usage among corporate and industrial occupiers.

In its filing, CleanMax stated that the collaboration reflected a shared long-term commitment towards enabling clean energy transition for businesses and supporting development of low-carbon infrastructure within India’s industrial and commercial ecosystem.

The company further stated that the partnership aligned with Apple’s broader global carbon neutrality objectives while supporting expansion of renewable energy capacity serving corporate consumers in India.

Kuldeep Jain stated that the latest investment represented an expansion of the existing relationship between the two companies. He indicated that CleanMax viewed itself as a long-term net-zero transition partner for corporate clients seeking renewable energy solutions.

CleanMax operates as a renewable energy platform focused on the commercial and industrial segment across India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The company develops and operates renewable power assets catering to industrial facilities, office parks, manufacturing units and commercial establishments.

India’s commercial and industrial renewable energy market has witnessed increasing investment activity in recent years as corporates expand sustainability commitments and seek to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources. Demand for captive and open-access renewable power projects has also increased among industrial and commercial occupiers aiming to lower operating costs and meet environmental compliance requirements.

The latest partnership comes amid continued growth in private sector investment towards renewable energy infrastructure, green power procurement and carbon reduction initiatives across manufacturing, technology and industrial sectors in India.
