ITC Hotels Ltd has been allotted land on a long-term lease at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, to develop a premium five-star hotel aimed at catering to high-end corporate travellers, conventions and international events. The land, granted by India International Convention and Exhibition Centre Ltd, is positioned within the larger Yashobhoomi precinct, which has rapidly emerged as a major MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) and trade destination in the national capital region.
Under the terms of the arrangement, ITC Hotels will develop and operate a luxury hotel complemented by contemporary banqueting facilities and distinctive culinary offerings. The 3,648 sq metre parcel has been leased for 91 years, with ITC Hotels agreeing to a lease premium of INR 326.50 crore, as disclosed in a regulatory filing. The extended lease tenure provides a long-term horizon for operation and return on investment in a strategic hospitality node.
According to company leadership, the Yashobhoomi facility has already hosted numerous significant trade shows, conferences and large conventions, driving demand for premium accommodation and event infrastructure in the vicinity. ITC Hotels Managing Director emphasised that the proposed property will showcase the group's strengths in service excellence and culinary leadership while reinforcing Yashobhoomi's appeal as a global destination for business gatherings and marquee events.
Currently, ITC Hotels has a substantial footprint in the Delhi-NCR hospitality market, with 10 properties and 1,599 keys across its portfolio, including brands such as ITC Hotels, Welcomhotel and Fortune. The planned Yashobhoomi hotel is expected to further deepen the company's presence and align with rising demand from corporate clients, international travellers and event delegates.
The development is anticipated to play a pivotal role in enhancing the hospitality ecosystem around the India International Convention and Exhibition Centre (IICC), improving lodging and event services for domestic and global participants. By combining luxury accommodation with state-of-the-art banqueting and service offerings, the new ITC property is poised to complement the broader ambitions of the MICE and business tourism sector in Dwarka and the wider Delhi-NCR region.
