Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has stated that the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP), connecting southern Mizoram to the Bay of Bengal through Myanmar, is expected to be completed by 2027. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved a INR 6,957 crore project to widen and upgrade the Kalibor-Numaligarh stretch of National Highway 715 in Assam. The project will develop an elevated corridor of 34.45 km through Kaziranga National Park to ensure safe wildlife movement, alongside upgrading 30.22 km of the existing highway. Mumbai's road concretisation work is resuming after a four-month pause caused by the monsoon. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to complete 574 partially concreted roads first, followed by 776 new roads. Since its launch in January 2023, just over half of the project has been completed, with Phase 1 covering 700 roads at 63.5% progress and Phase 2 covering 1,421 roads at 36.8%. The project focuses on durable roads while considering local conditions and resident convenience. Bihar is set to launch three major road projects along the Ganga River with a combined cost of INR 17,000 crore, aimed at improving connectivity, boosting economic growth, and promoting tourism. Developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), the projects include the Digha-Sherpur-Bihta-Koilwar (35.65 km) stretch at INR 6,495.79 crore, the Munger-Sultanganj (42 km) stretch at INR 5,119.80 crore, and the Sultanganj-Bhagalpur-Sabour (41.33 km) corridor at INR 4,849.83 crore. Tendering has been completed, and letters of acceptance issued. Once operational, the 84 km Munger-Bhagalpur-Sabour route will serve as a vital corridor, easing congestion and enhancing tourism with scenic Ganga-side travel.Read more
