Bengaluru has made significant progress in road repairs, with over 13,000 potholes fixed and another 4,000-5,000 slated for phased repair, according to Deputy CM DK Shivakumar. Backed by a INR 750 crore fund, each repair is tracked with GPS, photos, and videos for transparency. Additionally, the government has rolled out an INR 1,100 crore plan to upgrade 550 km of arterial roads, including widening, junction concreting, and new construction, with provisions to manage traffic during works. A citizen app for pothole reporting and police support are also in place. India and Bhutan are moving ahead with their first-ever cross-border railway connections through the Kokrajhar-Gelephu and Banarhat-Samtse links. With a combined investment of INR 4,033 crore (USD 454 million), these projects aim to enhance trade, transport, and people-to-people ties between the two countries. The Kokrajhar-Gelephu line will stretch 69 km, while the Banarhat-Samtse line will cover 20 km. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has initiated tenders valued at INR 2,200 crore for the construction of two bridges in Mumbai's western suburbs. These projects aim to enhance connectivity and ease traffic congestion. The first project involves the Lagoon Road Bridge, which will connect Malad (West) to Andheri's Lagoon Road, traversing over a mangrove patch and the Poisar River. Senegal plans to begin construction of a second oil refinery in 2026, seeking USD 2-5 billion in investment to expand domestic refining capacity, SAR CEO Mamadou Abib Diop told Reuters. Financing offers have already come from China, Turkey, and South Korea. The refinery, dubbed SAR 2.0, will process an additional 4 million tons of crude annually, using feedstock primarily from the Sangomar offshore field, operated by Woodside Energy with Petrosen as minority partner. Sangomar, producing since 2024, yields about 34.5 million barrels per year. The six-lane flyover connecting Nand Nagri and Gagan Cinema in northeast Delhi has finally opened after a 16-month delay caused by tree clearance issues. Constructed by the Public Works Department (PWD), the 1.55-km flyover, 22 meters wide, is expected to benefit over 100,000 daily commuters by providing a signal-free route and reducing travel time by roughly 14 minutes. Indonesia's state utility PLN has begun building a 92 MW-peak floating solar power plant on the Saguling reservoir in West Java, around 180 km from Jakarta, as part of its renewable energy expansion. Scheduled to start operations in November 2026, the plant will generate more than 130 GWh of electricity annually and cut carbon emissions by 104,000 tons. It forms part of Indonesia's broader plan to add 42.6 GW of renewable energy by 2034, with 17.1 GW coming from solar. Serica Energy has agreed to acquire Prax Upstream, the operator of the Lancaster oilfield in the UK North Sea, for USD 25.6 million. The deal includes a 100% interest in Lancaster, a 40% operated interest in the Greater Laggan Area, a 10% interest in the Catcher Field, and a 5.21% interest in the Golden Eagle Area. The acquisition is expected to generate an additional USD 50 million in free cash flow by 2026 and add around 11 million barrels of oil equivalent to Serica's reserves. Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has added 112.5 MW of renewable power capacity at Khavda in Gujarat, increasing its total operational generation to 16,598.6 MW. The expansion includes an 87.5 MW solar project under Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Six Limited and a 25 MW hybrid project via Adani Green Energy Twenty Five B Limited. These plants began generating electricity from late September, following all necessary approvals. The Maharashtra registration department has allowed tenant agreements to be registered at any sub-registrar office within a district, removing the earlier taluka-based restriction. Part of the One District, One Registration scheme, the move aims to speed up leave-and-licence registrations and ease delays caused by uneven workloads. Navi Mumbai International Airport is scheduled to be inaugurated on October 8, following clearance from the DGCA.
