The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has completed Chhattisgarh's first National Highway tunnel, a key development in the state's infrastructure. The 2.79-kilometer twin-tube tunnel is part of the 464-kilometer Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor (NH-130CD). Located along the hills bordering Kanker and Kondagaon districts near Odisha, the left tunnel is expected to open by March-April 2026, while the right tunnel will be ready by July-August 2026. Mumbai's first fully underground metro corridor, Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line), is now fully operational, connecting Cuffe Parade in south Mumbai to Aarey JVLR in Goregaon. The final stretch from Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade adds 11 underground stations and strengthens access to heritage areas, business districts, and government hubs. Public sector banks have approved more than 5.79 lakh loan applications amounting to INR 10,907 crore under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli scheme, supporting households in installing rooftop solar systems. IRB Infrastructure recorded an 11 per cent increase in toll revenue for September 2025, reaching INR 557 crore from INR 502 crore a year ago. The MP Expressway in Maharashtra contributed the most, followed by Hyderabad's Golconda Expressway and the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Super Express Tollway. Newly added Lalitpur-Lakhnadon NH44 also showed revenue growth. Despite monsoon-related traffic challenges and temporary GST-related slowdowns, IRB maintained strong performance. The Ministry of Railways has approved a new 117-km railway line connecting Bihta and Anugrah Narayan Road, with an estimated cost of INR 3,606.42 crore. Rescue operations are underway on Tibet's eastern slope of Mount Everest, where nearly 1,000 people have been stranded after a severe blizzard blocked mountain access roads, according to Chinese state media. Hundreds of villagers and rescue teams have been mobilised to clear snow from the high-altitude area, which lies at over 4,900 metres (16,000 feet), Jimu News reported. Mumbai's road concretisation work is resuming after a four-month pause caused by the monsoon. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to complete 574 partially concreted roads first, followed by 776 new roads. Since its launch in January 2023, just over half of the project has been completed, with Phase 1 covering 700 roads at 63.5% progress and Phase 2 covering 1,421 roads at 36.8%. The project focuses on durable roads while considering local conditions and resident convenience. Bihar is set to launch three major road projects along the Ganga River with a combined cost of INR 17,000 crore, aimed at improving connectivity, boosting economic growth, and promoting tourism. Developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), the projects include the Digha-Sherpur-Bihta-Koilwar (35.65 km) stretch at INR 6,495.79 crore, the Munger-Sultanganj (42 km) stretch at INR 5,119.80 crore, and the Sultanganj-Bhagalpur-Sabour (41.33 km) corridor at INR 4,849.83 crore. Tendering has been completed, and letters of acceptance issued. Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Tata Power Mumbai Distribution to develop an 80 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project with an estimated investment of INR 1,200 crore. The project, to be completed within 24 months, will integrate solar, wind, and battery storage systems to ensure reliable supply even during peak demand.
