The renewables arm secured its first wind energy order for a 100+ MW Balance of Plant project in southern India. Infrastructure major KEC International has secured fresh orders worth INR 1,050 crore across multiple business verticals, strengthening its diversified order book and geographic presence. The company disclosed the developments through a regulatory filing, highlighting order wins across renewables, civil construction, transmission and distribution, and cables and conductors.
The renewables business marked a key milestone by securing its first-ever order in the wind energy segment. The contract involves a Balance of Plant package for a wind project with capacity exceeding 100 MW in southern India, awarded by a well-established private developer. This order signals KEC International's formal entry into the wind power space, adding to its existing renewable energy portfolio.
In the civil engineering segment, the company received an order in the buildings and factories category from an existing client. The project relates to the execution of a downstream facility in western India for a leading steel manufacturer, reinforcing KEC's continued presence in industrial construction.
The transmission and distribution business secured new orders in the Americas for the supply of transmission towers, hardware and poles. Additionally, the cables and conductors segment won contracts for supplying various types of cables and conductors in domestic and international markets, reflecting steady demand across regions.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Vimal Kejriwal indicated that the order inflows reflect strong momentum across businesses. He noted that the renewables segment achieved a significant breakthrough with its first wind energy order, while subsidiary SAE Towers secured sizeable tower supply contracts in Mexico, pointing to improved activity levels in the North American transmission and distribution market. With these additions, the company's year-to-date order intake has reached INR 19,300 crore.
KEC International is the flagship infrastructure company of the RPG Group and operates as a global engineering, procurement and construction player. Its operations span power transmission and distribution, civil construction, transportation infrastructure, renewables, oil and gas pipelines, and cables and conductors, with projects spread across multiple geographies.
