Over 31,000 homes completed in Jammu and Kashmir under PMAY-U, delays linked to beneficiary constraints

The Jammu and Kashmir government has completed over 31,000 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban out of 39,153 sanctioned units. Around 7,980 houses are still under construction and are targeted for completion by September 2026. Delays have mainly been due to beneficiaries financial limitations, rising construction costs, and other personal constraints. Under PMAY-U 2.0, more than 21,000 applications have been received, with over 2,000 houses already approved.
