Menzies Aviation has secured a 15-year ground handling licence at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, strengthening its presence at one of India's busiest airports. Chennai has initiated construction of a major multi-modal transport hub at the Broadway bus stand, with the foundation laid by Chief Minister M K Stalin in the past week. Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) is set to introduce India's first hydrogen-powered buses for passenger movement after entering into an agreement with the Kerala Hydrogen Valley Innovation Cluster Foundation under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The project involves the deployment of three hydrogen fuel cell electric buses, with financial support capped at INR 2.90 crore per bus and a total project cost of INR 8.7 crore. Nalwa Aero has signed a strategic agreement with helicopter operators Global Vectra Helicorp, Pawan Hans Ltd, and Himalayan Heli Services to launch electric air taxi (eVTOL) services in India. Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has formally requested the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) to allocate parcels of land for the construction of entry and exit points at eight stations on the first phase of the Old Gurugram Metro project. The stations requiring land include Millennium City Centre, Sector 45, Sector 33, Udyog Vihar Phase Six, Sector 10, Sector 37, Basai and the station near Dwarka Expressway, with individual requirements ranging from around 287 sq m to over 700 sq m per site. Most of this land is reportedly HSVP-owned, and the authority is considering the request. Should any portions be privately held, acquisition will proceed under Gurugram Metro's updated land policy, supported by a state-level land acquisition committee chaired by the deputy commissioner. Two passenger aircraft operated by Air India and IndiGo made contact on the ground at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport earlier this week during routine taxiing operations. The incident involved the wingtips of both aircraft while one flight was preparing for departure and the other was taxiing after landing. All passengers and crew on board both flights were safe. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has awarded the first construction-related consultancy contract for the East-West Corridor of the Lucknow Metro under Phase 1B, marking a key step towards project implementation. The Detailed Design Consultant contract for Line-2 has been awarded to a joint venture between AYESA Ingenieria Arquitectura SAU and AYESA India Pvt Ltd, following a competitive bidding process. Valued at INR 15.90 crore, the contract covers detailed design work for civil, architectural, electrical, mechanical and traction systems across both elevated and underground sections of the corridor.
