Cybersecurity company OPSWAT has opened its first India-based office and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) lab in Bengaluru, providing customers and partners with local engineering and sales support. The facility will allow visitors to test cybersecurity defences through simulated real-world attack scenarios covering both information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) environments. The Bengaluru office will also host product demonstrations, executive briefings, workshops and meetings with channel partners and system integrators. The company said the facility is aimed at supporting organisations across sectors that rely on critical infrastructure and face increasing cybersecurity risks.
OPSWAT has opened its first India office and CIP lab in Bengaluru, expanding its local presence in one of the country's major technology centres. The facility will give customers and partners access to local engineering and sales teams, while the lab will allow them to test cybersecurity defences against simulated live attack scenarios involving IT and OT environments.
Nith Mehta, India General Manager at OPSWAT, said the Bengaluru office would allow the company to work more closely with customers and partners to address India's cybersecurity requirements. He added that the CIP lab would enable visitors to simulate real-world cyber scenarios and assess how the company's technology performs against the threats faced by their organisations.
The facility will also be used for technology demonstrations, executive briefings and workshops. It will serve as a meeting hub for OPSWAT's channel partners and system integrators, supporting closer collaboration in the region.
Bengaluru is home to a large concentration of global companies, technology firms and startups and has a strong presence across sectors including IT, biotechnology, aerospace and food processing. These industries operate infrastructure and systems that require cybersecurity protection across both IT and OT environments.
OPSWAT employees, customers, prospective customers and partners attended the opening event held earlier this month.
Founded in 2002, OPSWAT focuses on protecting critical infrastructure from known, unknown and AI-generated threats. Its MetaDefender Platform provides cybersecurity solutions for IT, OT and cross-domain environments, covering files, devices and data transfers across cloud, on-premises and air-gapped environments. Its offerings include file security, peripheral media protection, managed file transfer, optical firewall technology, data diodes and specialised cybersecurity training.
The Bengaluru CIP lab will give organisations an opportunity to assess these capabilities in simulated attack environments before applying them to their own infrastructure.
