IT services company HCLTech and German chemicals and biotechnology firm Wacker Chemie AG have established a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune. The centre will support Wacker’s engineering, IT and digital transformation initiatives and is intended to provide a flexible and resilient delivery platform. The GCC expands the companies’ existing strategic partnership, with HCLTech bringing its expertise in DevSecOps and automation to help build a high-performing team, strengthen governance and support Wacker’s digital modernisation efforts. Wacker operates 27 production sites globally and reported annual sales of around 5.5 billion euros in 2025.
HCLTech and Wacker Chemie AG have established a Global Capability Centre in Pune as part of the expansion of their existing strategic partnership.
The centre will support Wacker’s engineering, IT and digital transformation initiatives. According to HCLTech’s regulatory filing, the facility is designed to provide a flexible and resilient delivery foundation for the company’s operations and future digital requirements.
HCLTech will use its expertise in DevSecOps and automation to help Wacker build a high-performing team, improve governance and accelerate digital modernisation through the new centre.
Fabian Seibold, Director, WACKER Excellence Hub, Pune, said the GCC would strengthen Wacker’s global delivery and digital execution capabilities. He added that HCLTech’s experience in establishing and scaling such centres would support a model focused on agility, governance and long-term growth.
Headquartered in Munich, Wacker Chemie is a manufacturer of speciality chemical products and operates a global network of 27 production sites. The company reported annual sales of approximately 5.5 billion euros in fiscal 2025 and employs more than 16,000 people worldwide.
