Synopsis

Gujarat Inject (Kerala) Limited (GIKL) has entered into a strategic business partnership with England-based Storenergy Limited to jointly explore opportunities in the Renewable Energy Storage Technology (REST) segment in India. The partnership, announced from Vadodara on August 24, will focus on identifying, evaluating and developing potential opportunities in the Indian market. The agreement is intended to allow GIKL to participate in the country's growing renewable energy storage segment and assess related business opportunities. The companies will combine GIKL's interest in the Indian market with Storenergy's capabilities in renewable energy storage. While the partnership establishes a framework for collaboration, commercial terms for individual projects or opportunities will be determined separately at a later stage. The transaction has also been stated to be not a related-party transaction.

Gujarat Inject (Kerala) Limited (GIKL) has entered into a strategic business partnership with England-based Storenergy Limited to jointly explore opportunities in Renewable Energy Storage Technology (REST) in India, with the agreement providing a framework for the two companies to identify, assess and develop potential projects in the domestic market.
The partnership, announced from Vadodara on August 24, comes as energy storage gains greater attention among industries and energy users seeking ways to store and manage renewable power more efficiently. Under the agreement, GIKL and Storenergy will work together to identify suitable opportunities in India's renewable energy storage market and evaluate their potential for development.
For GIKL, the partnership is intended to provide an avenue to participate in the emerging renewable energy storage segment and explore associated business opportunities in India. The company will work with Storenergy on opportunities considered suitable for collaboration under the agreement.
The partnership brings together GIKL's focus on the Indian market and Storenergy's capabilities in the renewable energy storage sector. The companies will jointly assess potential opportunities before determining whether individual projects or business propositions are suitable for further development.
Murli Shivshankaran Nair, managing director of Gujarat Inject (Kerala) Limited, said the Indian energy sector was undergoing a significant transition and that energy storage was expected to become increasingly relevant to this process. He added that the partnership with Storenergy would enable GIKL to examine the Renewable Energy Storage System segment in a focused manner and identify potential opportunities jointly.
The agreement does not establish commercial terms for individual projects at this stage. According to the company, the financial and other commercial terms applicable to specific projects or opportunities will be finalised separately at a later stage, depending on the opportunities identified and evaluated by the two parties.
The partnership is focused on the Indian market, where renewable energy storage is becoming an increasingly relevant component of energy management as businesses and other energy users seek more efficient ways of storing and managing power.
GIKL has said the arrangement will enable it to examine opportunities in the REST segment while working with Storenergy on potential projects. The companies will identify and evaluate opportunities before determining the scope and terms of individual initiatives.
The company has also clarified that the transaction does not constitute a related-party transaction. No specific project value, investment commitment or project timeline has been disclosed as part of the partnership at this stage.
