Renewable energy engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company Kshema Power has secured a contract from an undisclosed independent power producer to develop transmission infrastructure for a 315-megawatt wind power project in Karnataka. Announced on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, the contract covers civil works, equipment procurement, and commissioning of high-voltage transmission lines and unit substations. The initiative strengthens Kshema Power's portfolio in managing large-scale power evacuation networks for utility-scale green energy developments. Globally, the company has completed over 5.2 gigawatts of renewable infrastructure projects to date.
Engineering, procurement, and construction company Kshema Power has secured an order from a leading independent power producer to construct transmission infrastructure for a 315-megawatt wind power project in Karnataka. The contract requires the development of essential power evacuation infrastructure to link the wind power generation site with the state's transmission grid. The company did not disclose the name of the project client or the overall financial valuation of the transaction.
Under the terms of the project agreement, Kshema Power will execute the supply, civil engineering works, erection, and commissioning of approximately 33 kilometres of 220-kilovolt single-circuit transmission lines mounted on double-circuit and multi-circuit towers. The scope of work also includes the complete installation and commissioning of associated unit substations and 33-kilovolt transmission line infrastructure required for project connectivity.
The contract encompasses comprehensive end-to-end responsibilities, including obtaining statutory approvals for high-voltage transmission, managing electrical balance-of-plant requirements, handling civil works, and completing final project commissioning. Sateesh Basant, Managing Director of Kshema Power, stated that the infrastructure order aligns with the company's objective to build transmission assets that transfer renewable power from generation sites to end consumers in a reliable and efficient manner.
The project forms part of India's broader push to expand green energy evacuation capacity to support utility-scale wind and solar installations. Establishing high-voltage grid connections and dedicated pooling substations remains critical for independent power producers seeking to prevent curtailment and ensure seamless power flow into regional grids. By undertaking the full spectrum of high-voltage approvals and balance-of-plant works, the contract mitigates execution risks for the asset owner while accelerating the operational readiness of the 315-megawatt generation facility.
The new development adds to Kshema Power's track record in utility-scale green energy infrastructure, having executed over 5.2 gigawatts of projects across international markets. The company’s historical execution volume includes more than 4,500 megawatts of wind EPC assignments, over 2,000 kilometres of power transmission lines, and more than 2,400 megavolt-amperes of substation capacity. The current project reinforces the firm's position as an integrated EPC provider for large-scale renewable infrastructure developments.
