Synopsis

Haryana has signed memorandums of understanding worth INR 66,000 crore with companies during the state government’s Happening Haryana 2.0 international outreach campaign in Mumbai. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the state is focusing on faster project execution, policy certainty, connectivity and industry-friendly measures to attract investment. He highlighted Haryana’s contribution of around 3.6% to India’s economy despite accounting for about 1.3% of the country’s geographical area. The state is also planning region-specific industrial growth, with different districts being developed around sectors such as automobiles, IT, food processing, logistics, electronics and renewable energy.

Haryana has signed MoUs worth INR 66,000 crore with various companies during the second day of the Happening Haryana 2.0 international outreach campaign in Mumbai, according to the state government.
Addressing Consuls General, industry leaders, investors and representatives of Mumbai’s financial and corporate sector, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said Haryana was offering investors more than land, incentives and approvals, with a focus on scale, speed, policy certainty and shared growth.
Saini said the state government was focused on project movement rather than file movement. He also said an industry-worker friendship council had been constituted to address issues related to the rights of industries and workers and resolve industrial disputes.
The Chief Minister said Haryana had become an important growth engine for the Indian economy. While the state accounts for about 1.3% of India’s geographical area, it contributes around 3.6% to the national economy.
Haryana has developed strong industrial and business activity in sectors including automobiles, agro-industries, engineering, electronics, logistics, IT services and corporate operations.
Saini also pointed to the INR 1.10 lakh crore worth of MoUs signed recently during the Industry Policy launch programme in Gurugram. Of the 123 companies that signed these agreements, 108 have already been provided land. He said the state viewed an MoU as a commitment to investment and project development rather than simply a formal signing.
The government plans to create new growth nodes by linking district-specific industrial clusters with land availability, skilled manpower and connectivity. North Haryana will focus on food processing, pharmaceuticals, scientific instruments and logistics, while central Haryana will develop engineering, textiles, automobiles and warehousing.
South Haryana will focus on IT, electronics, electric mobility, global capability centres and advanced manufacturing. Western Haryana will concentrate on agro-industry, renewable energy, textiles and export-oriented units.
Saini said the state has also prepared the Haryana Vision Document-2047 in line with the national goal of building a developed India by 2047. The vision includes taking Haryana’s economy beyond USD 1 trillion, raising per capita income, improving youth employability and increasing women’s participation in the economy.
The state also aims to involve every district more actively in its economic development, with regional clusters expected to support investment and employment across different parts of Haryana.
