Luxembourg-based Innovation Platform Capital (iPC) has proposed an INR 83,480 crore investment in Karnataka in three phases, covering digital infrastructure, green hydrogen and renewable energy. The proposal includes an integrated Bengaluru-Tumakuru platform with 2,250 MW of total IT load for hyperscale data centres and 1,000 MW of green hydrogen capacity. The first phase involves an INR 17,114 crore investment and includes 400 MW of data-centre capacity and a 500 MW green hydrogen and power complex. The company has sought 1,000 acres of land and plans to rely mainly on treated industrial or CETP effluent for water requirements.
Luxembourg-based Innovation Platform Capital (iPC) has proposed an INR 83,480 crore investment in Karnataka in three phases for an integrated green hydrogen and hyperscale data centre platform, Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil said.
Patil held discussions with a high-level delegation from iPC led by Gursharan Singh Kundan, Managing Partner and Chairman of iPC Global.
The proposed Bengaluru-Tumakuru platform will have a total IT load of 2,250 MW for data centres and 1,000 MW of green hydrogen capacity across the three phases.
The current proposal relates to the first phase, which involves a gross investment of INR 17,114 crore. It will include 400 MW of data-centre capacity across two campuses of 200 MW each, along with a 500 MW green hydrogen and power complex.
The company has sought 1,000 acres of land for the project. Around 400 acres each would be allocated to the data centres and green power complex, while the remaining 200 acres would be used for safety and environmental buffers, including a separation zone for the hydrogen facility.
The project is expected to require around 13 million litres of water per day, with the company proposing to source most of it from treated industrial or CETP effluent.
iPC plans to recycle 80-85% of the water used for the project. Limited borewell water would be kept as a backup source if required.
