Fujiyama commissions 2 GW power electronics plant in Madhya Pradesh

Synopsis

Fujiyama Power Systems Ltd has commissioned a 2 GW power electronics manufacturing facility at Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh, expanding its overall power electronics production capacity to 4.2 GW. The plant will manufacture solar inverters, UPS systems and other related power electronics products. The facility forms part of the company’s greenfield manufacturing expansion programme focused on strengthening its integrated capabilities across the rooftop solar value chain. Fujiyama said the new facility would support its manufacturing and supply chain requirements as demand for rooftop solar solutions increases across India. The Ratlam complex is also being developed with a battery manufacturing facility, which the company said was progressing as planned. In May, Fujiyama commissioned a separate 2 GW solar panel manufacturing facility at the same complex.

Fujiyama Power Systems Ltd has commissioned a 2 GW power electronics manufacturing facility at Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh, expanding its total power electronics manufacturing capacity to 4.2 GW, the company said in an exchange filing on Friday. 
The newly commissioned facility will manufacture solar inverters, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and other related power electronics products. The plant forms part of Fujiyama’s large-scale greenfield manufacturing expansion project, which is intended to strengthen its integrated manufacturing capabilities across the rooftop solar value chain. 
The commissioning increases the company’s overall power electronics manufacturing capacity from 2.2 GW to 4.2 GW. Fujiyama said the additional capacity would strengthen its ability to cater to the growing rooftop solar market in India. 
Pawan Kumar Garg, chairman and joint managing director of Fujiyama Power Systems, said the increase in rooftop solar demand across India had made stronger power electronics manufacturing capabilities important for the company. He said the expanded manufacturing base would enable Fujiyama to supply reliable and high-quality products while improving operational efficiencies and supply chain integration. 
The Ratlam facility is part of a broader manufacturing complex being developed by the company. Fujiyama said its battery manufacturing facility at the site was progressing according to plan. Once developed alongside the newly commissioned power electronics unit, the complex is expected to strengthen the company’s integrated manufacturing platform and support its long-term growth strategy. 
The company had earlier commissioned a 2 GW solar panel manufacturing facility at the Ratlam complex in May. The solar panel plant forms another component of Fujiyama’s manufacturing expansion across the rooftop solar value chain. 
Fujiyama’s manufacturing expansion covers several products used in rooftop solar systems, including solar panels, power electronics and battery storage solutions. The company offers solar inverters as well as lithium-ion and tubular batteries in addition to solar panels. 
The commissioning of the power electronics facility therefore adds manufacturing capacity to an existing solar panel production base at Ratlam, while the planned battery facility is intended to further broaden the complex’s integrated manufacturing capabilities. 
Fujiyama Power Systems is an Indian provider of rooftop solar solutions, with its product portfolio spanning solar panels, solar inverters, lithium-ion batteries and tubular batteries. The company’s latest capacity addition comes amid increasing adoption of rooftop solar solutions across India.
