Synopsis

IndiGo has announced the launch of direct flights between Guwahati and Deoghar, with services scheduled to begin on August 4, 2026. The new route will operate twice a week, improving air connectivity between Northeast India and one of Jharkhand's prominent religious destinations. The airline said the service is expected to support pilgrimage travel, tourism and regional economic links while strengthening Guwahati's role as a gateway to the Northeast and expanding Deoghar's domestic aviation network.

IndiGo has expanded its domestic route network by introducing direct flights between Guwahati in Assam and Deoghar in Jharkhand. The new service will commence operations on August 4, 2026, providing a direct air link between the two cities and enhancing connectivity between Northeast India and eastern India.
According to the airline, the route will be operated twice every week, with flights scheduled on Tuesdays and Fridays. The addition is aimed at offering passengers a convenient travel option while improving access to Deoghar, which has emerged as an important religious and tourism destination in recent years.
The new connection is expected to benefit devotees travelling to the Baba Baidyanath Dham temple, one of the country's prominent Jyotirlinga shrines, as well as leisure and business travellers. Improved connectivity is also likely to facilitate tourism and encourage greater cultural and economic exchanges between the Northeast and Jharkhand.
Guwahati continues to serve as a key aviation hub for the Northeast, connecting the region with major domestic destinations. By adding Deoghar to its network from Guwahati, IndiGo is further strengthening regional air connectivity while improving travel options for passengers from both regions.
The airline noted that Deoghar is already connected through its network to several major Indian cities, and the introduction of the Guwahati service further expands the city's domestic aviation links. The move aligns with the broader objective of improving regional accessibility and supporting the growth of emerging air travel markets.
As per the published schedule, the Guwahati–Deoghar flight will depart at 9:25 am and arrive at 11:20 am, while the return service from Deoghar will depart at 11:40 am and reach Guwahati at 1:35 pm. The timings remain subject to regulatory approvals.
With the addition of this route, IndiGo continues to expand its domestic footprint by connecting emerging cities with established regional hubs, supporting tourism, trade and passenger mobility across different parts of the country.
