The Indore district administration has demolished an illegally developed residential colony in Pipliya Rao village and reclaimed nearly two acres of government land valued at around INR 30 crore. The action was carried out as part of the administration's ongoing drive against illegal encroachments and unauthorised colonies. Officials found that the encroached land had been divided into residential and commercial plots without approvals, while an industrial unit was also operating on the site. The administration has urged homebuyers to verify land ownership and statutory approvals before purchasing plots.
The Indore district administration has demolished an illegally developed residential colony in Pipliya Rao village and recovered nearly two acres of government land estimated to be worth around INR 30 crore. The action was taken as part of the administration's continued campaign against illegal land encroachments and unauthorised real estate developments.
Officials said the encroached government land had been illegally converted into a residential colony, with residential and commercial plots marked for sale without obtaining the required approvals from the competent authorities. During the anti-encroachment drive, the administration removed the entire illegal layout and restored possession of the land to the government.
Apart from the unauthorised plotting activity, authorities also found that a flour processing unit was operating on the encroached government land. The industrial setup was dismantled during the demolition drive, and the land was cleared of all illegal structures. The operation was carried out jointly by the Revenue Department, police and the municipal administration.
According to officials, the encroachment was identified on government land bearing Survey Number 82 in Pipliya Rao village. The administration said strict action would continue against individuals involved in illegally occupying government land or developing unauthorised colonies. The drive is aimed at protecting public land and preventing illegal plotting activities that could mislead prospective property buyers.
The latest demolition is part of Madhya Pradesh's broader enforcement against illegal colonies and encroachments. Authorities across the state have been increasing inspections and taking action against projects developed without statutory approvals, with a focus on safeguarding government land and ensuring compliance with planning regulations.
