CREDAI-MCHI, the apex body representing real estate developers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), will hold the 10th edition of its Design & Construction Conference on 19 August at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. The event, organised under the leadership of CREDAI-MCHI President Sukhraj Nahar, will commemorate the tenth anniversary of the association's Procurement Wing and is expected to bring together more than 500 procurement leaders, construction heads, architects, consultants and senior decision-makers from the real estate sector, along with over 50 construction and ancillary brands.
The conference has been designed as a platform for knowledge exchange, technology showcases and business engagement across the construction ecosystem. The programme will include product launches, presentations on emerging industry trends, technology demonstrations, strategic business-to-business networking opportunities and recognition of procurement professionals who have contributed to the evolution of construction procurement within the industry.
The CREDAI-MCHI Procurement Wing was established in 2016 to create a collaborative platform connecting developers with manufacturers, suppliers and the ancillary industry while promoting innovation, knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships. Over the past decade, the wing has expanded its activities through initiatives including BizNet, WeConnect, Pitch to BizNet, X-clusive, Buildverse and the Spaciux Awards, bringing together developers, procurement professionals, architects, consultants, contractors, manufacturers and solution providers to encourage stronger industry collaboration.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the conference will also acknowledge the contribution of the Procurement Wing under the leadership of Nimish Ajmera, Convener of the CREDAI-MCHI Procurement Wing. The association stated that his leadership has helped establish the platform as one of the industry's recognised procurement forums over the past decade.
The event will place particular emphasis on the growing importance of procurement within the real estate development process. According to the association, procurement has evolved beyond the sourcing of construction materials to become a strategic function influencing project quality, cost optimisation, timely execution, technology adoption, sustainability and supply chain resilience. As construction practices continue to advance, procurement teams have become increasingly involved in decisions affecting operational efficiency, innovation and long-term project value.
More than 50 construction and ancillary brands are expected to showcase their latest products, technologies and industry solutions during the conference. The event will also provide developers and procurement professionals with opportunities to engage directly with manufacturers and service providers while exploring new construction technologies and sustainable building practices.
Alongside business networking and knowledge sessions, the conference will mark ten years of the CREDAI-MCHI Procurement Wing by recognising procurement leaders and industry professionals for their contribution to the construction sector. Several participating companies are also expected to use the platform to introduce new products, technologies and construction solutions to the industry.
