Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur has directed Public Works Department (PWD) officials to expedite ongoing road and infrastructure works in the Jubbal-Kotkhai constituency of Shimla district to facilitate the transportation of apple produce during the ongoing apple season.
Thakur reviewed the progress of PWD works in the constituency and asked officials to take necessary measures to ensure the smooth movement of apple-laden vehicles as well as the general public.
He directed that damaged roads be repaired on priority and that completed roads be opened to traffic without delay. He also called for coordination among the departments concerned to manage traffic efficiently during the apple season.
The minister further instructed officials to ensure the timely removal of debris and other obstructions from roads. Critical routes are to be kept under close monitoring throughout the apple season so that disruptions to transportation can be addressed quickly.
