Escorts Kubota will invest over INR 2,000 crore to develop a new manufacturing plant across 154 acres in YEIDA's Sector 10 in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. The facility will be developed in phases and will manufacture tractors, farm implements, construction equipment and engines for domestic and global markets. The first phase is planned to add capacity for up to 60,000 tractors and 15,000 construction equipment units annually. The investment will be funded through proceeds from the company's earlier preferential share issue to Kubota Corporation and internal accruals.
Escorts Kubota has announced an investment of over INR 2,000 crore to establish a new manufacturing plant in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) industrial area of Uttar Pradesh.
The facility will be developed across 154 acres in Sector 10 of Gautam Buddha Nagar and is expected to become one of Kubota Group's largest manufacturing facilities globally, according to the company's regulatory filing.
The plant will be developed in phases and will manufacture tractors, farm implements, construction equipment and engines. Production will cater to both Indian and international markets.
In the first phase, the facility is planned to add annual capacity of up to 60,000 tractors and 15,000 construction equipment units, along with supporting infrastructure and allied facilities.
The project will be funded through proceeds from the earlier preferential issue of shares to Kubota Corporation and the company's internal accruals.
Kubota Corporation President and Representative Director, CEO Shingo Hanada said India is one of the world's largest and fastest-growing tractor markets and has an important role in Kubota's growth strategy towards 2030. He added that the new greenfield facility reflects the company's expectation of India becoming a global manufacturing and engineering hub rather than only a market.
The project is aligned with Kubota Corporation's mid-term business plan 2030, which identifies India as one of its growth drivers and includes plans to establish a global hub for affordable manufacturing in the country.
Escorts Kubota currently has manufacturing capacity of around 1,70,000 tractors and 10,000 construction equipment units annually.
Escorts Kubota CMD Nikhil Nanda said the investment represents one of the company's largest expansions of its own manufacturing capacity. He added that the facility will cater to farmers and construction contractors in India as well as customers in global markets.
According to Deputy Managing Director Akira Kato, the new facility will be an integrated manufacturing campus with machining, assembly, testing, engine production and a mother warehouse for spare parts at a single location.
The company also plans to incorporate the Kubota production system, automation and digital quality control into the facility from the beginning, along with energy-efficient utilities and safety standards.
The investment will expand Escorts Kubota's manufacturing footprint and increase its production capacity for both agricultural and construction equipment, while strengthening the company's role within Kubota's global manufacturing network.
