AstaGuru has expanded its international operations to Singapore, opening its second overseas headquarters after establishing a London office earlier this year. The Singapore office will be headed by Jillian Kwan as managing director and will focus on collector engagement, client advisory and sourcing consignments across Singapore and Southeast Asia. The office will also host specialist consultations, physical previews and events linked to select auctions. AstaGuru, founded in Mumbai in 2008, said the expansion will help connect Indian art, jewellery, watches and luxury collectibles with collectors across Southeast Asia and other international markets.
Mumbai-based auction house AstaGuru has expanded into Singapore, marking its second international headquarters following the opening of its London office earlier this year.
The Singapore office will be led by Jillian Kwan as managing director, supported by a team from AstaGuru's international network. Kwan has more than two decades of experience with international auction houses and has worked across fine art, jewellery, watches and high-value collectibles.
The fully operational office will function as a regional hub for collector engagement, client advisory and consignment sourcing across Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian region. It will also host specialist consultations, curated physical previews and events for select auctions.
In September, the Singapore office is scheduled to showcase works by Indian masters including S H Raza, M F Husain, Thota Vaikuntam and Krishen Khanna at its private gallery.
Kwan said the collector landscape in Asia is changing, with buyers increasingly looking for rarity, provenance and cultural significance across established categories and geographies. She said Singapore's position as an art and cultural hub, bringing together collectors, institutions, galleries and global wealth, makes it an important market for AstaGuru's expansion.
Founded in Mumbai in 2008, AstaGuru operates through timed online sales, real-time bidding and digital catalogues. The company said it currently commands approximately 40 per cent of the Indian auction market.
Aparna Batra, chief business officer at AstaGuru, said the Singapore expansion extends the company's auction expertise into one of Asia's key wealth and cultural centres. She added that the office would help deepen engagement with collectors across Southeast Asia, strengthen cross-border participation and provide greater access to Indian art, jewellery, watches and luxury collectibles.
The expansion comes as AstaGuru seeks to build stronger connections between collectors in India, Southeast Asia and international markets, with Singapore serving as its base for the wider region.
