The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has completed the digitisation of enumeration forms collected under the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with draft voter lists for the Airoli and Belapur Assembly constituencies scheduled to be published on August 24, 2026. The exercise was conducted from June 30 to August 17 through Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to verify and update electoral records.
In the 150-Airoli Assembly constituency, 2,78,228 enumeration forms had been completed and submitted to BLOs for digitisation by August 17, against a total electorate of 4,97,380. The digitisation of all forms received from voters in the constituency has been completed.
The 151-Belapur Assembly constituency recorded 2,56,986 enumeration forms submitted for digitisation out of a total 4,22,317 voters. The civic administration said the digitisation process for the forms received from voters in this constituency had also been completed.
Following the collection and digitisation exercise, the draft electoral rolls will be published on August 24. Voters have been advised to check whether their names appear in the draft list by contacting their respective BLOs or by using the National Voter Service Portal.
If a voter’s name is missing from the draft electoral roll, or if an individual wishes to raise an objection regarding the inclusion of another name, claims and objections can be submitted to the Electoral Registration Officers between August 24 and September 23, 2026.
The period for disposal of the claims and objections will run from August 24 to October 22. Following the completion of this process, the final electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on October 27, 2026.
The SIR exercise is being conducted to improve the accuracy, transparency and currency of electoral rolls. The stated objective is to ensure that no eligible person is excluded from the voter list while preventing the inclusion of ineligible persons.
The civic administration said the exercise involved coordination among BLOs, Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and other officials, along with support from citizens and representatives and office-bearers of political parties.
Additional District Election Officer and NMMC Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar has urged voters to verify their names in the draft electoral rolls after publication. Voters can also use the National Voter Service Portal to check their electoral details online.
NMMC Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde and District Election Officer and District Collector Dr Shrikrishna Panchal congratulated the officials, political representatives and citizens involved in implementing the SIR exercise and disseminating information about the electoral roll revision process.
