Sundaram Home Finance is expanding its Emerging Business (EB) segment in Andhra Pradesh, targeting disbursements of INR 150 crore in the state during FY27, compared with around INR 50 crore recorded in FY26. The housing finance company plans to double its EB branch network in Andhra from around 10 to 20 branches, with most new outlets planned in smaller towns. It has already opened a branch in Chittoor as part of the expansion and expects to hire around 60 employees for the segment in the state. The company is linking the expansion to increasing industrial activity and potential housing demand in Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns. Nationally, Sundaram Home Finance has more than 100 EB branches across southern India and reported Q1 FY27 net profit of INR 85 crore.
Sundaram Home Finance is targeting Emerging Business (EB) segment disbursements of INR 150 crore in Andhra Pradesh during FY27, trebling the approximately INR 50 crore disbursed in the state during the previous financial year. The housing finance company announced the expansion on August 18 as it seeks to increase its presence in smaller towns and expand lending to customers in the affordable housing segment.
The company currently operates around 10 EB branches in Andhra Pradesh and plans to double the network to 20 branches during the current financial year. Most of the new branches are expected to be established in smaller towns across the state, where the company sees opportunities for housing finance linked to local economic and employment growth.
As an initial step in the expansion, Sundaram Home Finance has recently opened a branch in Chittoor. The company is also planning to recruit approximately 60 employees in Andhra Pradesh for its EB business as it increases its operational capacity across the state.
D. Lakshminarayanan, Managing Director, Sundaram Home Finance, said the company had recorded consistent growth across its Andhra branches during the first year of its EB operations in the state. He said the Andhra Pradesh government’s focus on industrial development in smaller towns could support new employment opportunities and, in turn, housing demand.
According to Lakshminarayanan, the company expects emerging opportunities in affordable housing as economic activity expands beyond the state’s larger urban centres. He said the planned expansion into Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns reflected the company’s intention to participate in the growth of the EB segment in these locations.
The expansion forms part of Sundaram Home Finance’s broader southern India network, which comprises more than 100 branches serving its EB segment. The company provides financing products across housing and related categories, including home loans, plot loans, home improvement and extension loans, affordable housing finance, loans against property and small-ticket loans to entrepreneurs.
The company reported a net profit of INR 85 crore in the first quarter of FY27 on disbursements of INR 1,665 crore. Its assets under management increased 11% during the quarter and stood at INR 20,325 crore as of June 30, 2026.
Sundaram Home Finance is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sundaram Finance. Its lending portfolio covers individual homebuyers as well as entrepreneurs and customers seeking finance for plots, home improvements, affordable housing and property-backed requirements.
The Andhra expansion comes as the company seeks to increase its presence in smaller urban centres rather than concentrating its EB operations only in major cities. The planned branch additions, recruitment and higher disbursement target are intended to support the company’s lending activity across the state during FY27.
