Synopsis

Axis Bank has opened 50 new branches across eight states, expanding its banking network across urban, semi-urban and rural markets. The new branches will provide banking services along with ATMs, doorstep banking, accessible infrastructure and regional language support. Separately, Abakkus Mutual Fund has crossed INR 10,000 crore in assets under management within a year of launching its first scheme, with more than 1.91 lakh investors. YES Bank has also introduced a credit card aimed at young salaried women, while J&K Bank has partnered with HDFC Life to expand its life insurance offerings.

Axis Bank has inaugurated 50 new branches across the country as part of its Independence Week initiatives, strengthening its presence across urban, semi-urban and rural markets.
The new branches are spread across eight states, including Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha and Tamil Nadu. They will provide a range of banking services, along with ATMs, doorstep banking facilities, accessible infrastructure and support in regional languages.
Meanwhile, Abakkus Mutual Fund has crossed the INR 10,000-crore assets under management milestone less than a year after launching its first scheme. The fund house had an AUM of INR 10,056 crore as of August 13, 2026, with more than 1.91 lakh investors.
Abakkus currently manages three equity schemes — Flexi Cap Fund, Small Cap Fund and Large & Mid Cap Fund — along with a Liquid Fund. The milestone comes as the fund house continues to expand its investor base and product portfolio since entering the mutual fund market.
In another development, YES Bank has launched the YES Essence Credit Card, aimed at young, salaried and digitally active women. The card offers benefits across categories including fashion, beauty, travel, fitness, dining and shopping, based on the spending and lifestyle preferences identified by the bank.
J&K Bank has also entered into a corporate agency agreement with HDFC Life to offer the insurer's life insurance products to its customers. The partnership will provide customers with products covering protection, savings, investment and retirement planning.
With HDFC Life joining its existing group of insurance partners, J&K Bank said the arrangement will strengthen its bancassurance business and give customers access to a wider range of insurance products.
