More than half of the 128 ready-to-move-in flats offered under the Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) Karmjeevan Awas Yojana 2026 were booked on the first day, with 66 units sold, according to the authority. The scheme, launched on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, offers homes in Pocket-II, Sector A6-A4, Narela at a 25% discount. The strongest demand was recorded for one-bedroom units, which were completely booked within hours, while two- and three-bedroom flats also attracted buyers. Discounted prices start at INR 33.40 lakh for one-bedroom units, INR 75.55 lakh for two-bedroom homes and INR 1.085 crore for three-bedroom units. The DDA said the scheme is aimed at government employees, working professionals and other eligible groups seeking relatively affordable home ownership in Delhi.
The Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) Karmjeevan Awas Yojana 2026 received strong initial demand, with 66 of the 128 ready-to-move-in flats offered under the scheme booked on its first day, the authority said. The scheme was launched on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day and offers residential units at a 25% discount in Narela.
The DDA said more than 50% of the flats on offer were booked on the opening day, with one-bedroom homes recording the highest demand. These units were completely sold within hours of the scheme opening, while two-bedroom and three-bedroom categories also attracted buyers.
The housing scheme covers flats in Pocket-II, Sector A6-A4, Narela. After the applicable 25% discount, prices start at INR 33.40 lakh for one-bedroom units, INR 75.55 lakh for two-bedroom units and INR 1.085 crore for three-bedroom homes.
The scheme was launched under the guidance of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and opened on a first-come, first-served basis. The DDA said the initiative is intended to serve government employees and working professionals, including people employed in corporate, business, entrepreneurial and professional sectors, by making home ownership more affordable in Delhi.
The authority's latest housing offering comes as the Narela area gains greater connectivity and infrastructure links. The DDA said Narela's appeal is being supported by improving connectivity, including the upcoming metro station and its proximity to other transport and social infrastructure.
According to the authority, the location is 1.2 kilometres from the upcoming metro station, 1.9 kilometres from the proposed Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) station, 2 kilometres from the Narela Sports Complex and 5 kilometres from the upcoming educational hub.
The development is also located close to Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), the GT Karnal Road and Urban Extension Road-I (UER-I), while overlooking the Mungeshpur Forest, according to the DDA.
The authority said the housing scheme forms part of its broader efforts towards planned housing development and providing affordable, ready-to-move-in homes to Delhi residents.
In the first quarter of the current financial year, the DDA sold 1,284 flats generating more than INR 1,020 crore in revenue. Of these, 1,153 flats, or nearly 90%, were located in Narela.
The first-day response to the Karmjeevan Awas Yojana adds to the DDA's recent sales activity in Narela, where the authority has been offering housing as connectivity and supporting infrastructure in the area improve. The latest scheme combines ready-to-move-in homes with a 25% discount across the three listed unit categories.
