Bajel Projects has secured two transmission line orders worth more than INR 700 crore under the WR-ER Inter-Regional Network Expansion Scheme – Part A. The packages, identified as TL06 and TL02, involve the construction of 400kV and 765kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting key locations in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. The company classified TL06 as a Mega order, valued between INR 300 crore and INR 400 crore, while TL02 qualifies as an UltraMega order worth more than INR 400 crore. The projects cover the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of new transmission infrastructure, including the Ranchi-New PPSP-Jamshedpur corridor and the Raigarh (Tamnar)-Jamshedpur route. Bajel Projects said the two packages will strengthen inter-regional power evacuation capacity between the Western and Eastern regions, improve grid connectivity across Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, and reinforce the wider WR-ER transmission corridor.
Engineering company Bajel Projects has secured two orders worth more than INR 700 crore for transmission line projects under the WR-ER Inter-Regional Network Expansion Scheme – Part A, the company said on Monday.
The company has not disclosed the individual value of the two orders. However, based on its project classification system, the TL06 package qualifies as a Mega order with a value between INR 300 crore and INR 400 crore, while TL02 is classified as an UltraMega order valued at more than INR 400 crore.
The first package, TL06, covers the LILO of Ranchi (New) – New PPSP 400kV D/C Line at Jamshedpur (New). Bajel Projects will undertake the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of new 400kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting Jamshedpur (New) with Ranchi (New) and New PPSP.
The second order, identified as TL02, covers the Raigarh (Tamnar) – Jamshedpur (New) 765kV D/C Line, Part-II. The scope involves construction of a new 765kV double-circuit transmission line between Raigarh (Tamnar) and Jamshedpur (New) as part of the second phase of the project.
Together, the two transmission packages are intended to strengthen inter-regional power evacuation capacity between India’s Western and Eastern regions. The projects will also improve grid connectivity across Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand and contribute to the wider WR-ER transmission corridor.
Rajesh Ganesh, managing director and CEO of Bajel Projects, said securing the two packages in quick succession reflected the company’s execution capabilities across both 400kV and 765kV transmission systems. He said the projects were important for strengthening power flows between the Western and Eastern regions and represented one of the company’s largest transmission line order wins to date.
Ganesh added that the company’s teams were prepared to execute both projects with a focus on safety and quality standards.
The two orders add to Bajel Projects’ transmission infrastructure portfolio across different voltage levels. TL06 involves a 400kV double-circuit system, while TL02 involves a higher-capacity 765kV double-circuit transmission line.
The projects form part of the WR-ER Inter-Regional Network Expansion Scheme – Part A, which is aimed at strengthening transmission infrastructure between the Western and Eastern power regions. The locations covered by the two packages include key transmission corridors linking Jharkhand with Chhattisgarh.
The combined value of more than INR 700 crore makes the two orders a significant addition to Bajel Projects’ current order book. The company will be responsible for multiple stages of project execution, including design, equipment supply, construction, testing and commissioning for the specified transmission systems.
