Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) and Prism, the parent company of travel technology firm OYO, emerged as the only hospitality companies among the top 10 firms in the 2026 GROHE-Hurun India Real Estate 150 rankings. The report highlighted hospitality as one of only two real estate segments to record valuation growth during the year, alongside retail. Prism more than doubled its valuation to INR 67,200 crore, while IHCL reached INR 93,300 crore. The rankings also showed hospitality's growing presence in India's real estate sector, with 24 companies collectively valued at INR 2.85 lakh crore, supported by Prism's growth and the entry of ITC Hotels following its demerger.
Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) and Prism, the parent company of travel technology unicorn OYO, were the only hospitality firms to secure places among the top 10 companies in the 2026 GROHE-Hurun India Real Estate 150 rankings, reflecting the sector's growing contribution to India's real estate landscape.
According to the report released recently, hospitality was one of only two real estate segments to register growth during the year, alongside retail. The findings indicated a shift in sectoral performance as residential and commercial real estate companies experienced valuation declines while hospitality businesses expanded their market presence.
Prism emerged as the strongest performer within the hospitality sector. Founded and led by Ritesh Agarwal, the company increased its valuation by 107% to INR 67,200 crore from the previous year, adding INR 34,700 crore in value. The company climbed six positions to rank fifth overall in the GROHE-Hurun India Real Estate 150 list, making it the only hospitality company besides IHCL to feature among the top 10.
The report also ranked Prism as India's second most valuable unlisted real estate company after Adani Properties. Among all companies included in the rankings, Prism was identified as the second-largest contributor to value creation during the year after Adani Properties, with both companies accounting for nearly two-thirds of the total increase in valuations recorded by existing firms.
IHCL, established in 1899, remained the highest-valued hospitality company in the rankings with a valuation of INR 93,300 crore. The report also highlighted the contrasting profiles of the sector's leaders, noting that Ritesh Agarwal, aged 32, was the youngest leader in the rankings, while InterGlobe Hotels' Kapil Bhatia, aged 93, was the oldest.
Hospitality has continued to strengthen its representation in the annual rankings. The report noted that the sector, which was described as a relatively minor component a decade ago, now accounts for 24 of the 151 companies featured, compared with 22 companies in the previous edition. Together, these hospitality firms have a combined valuation of approximately INR 2.85 lakh crore.
The rankings also marked the debut of ITC Hotels following its demerger, with the company entering the list at a valuation of INR 32,300 crore. Among hospitality companies, Prism recorded the highest percentage increase in valuation during the year.
Overall, only 31 of the 151 companies featured in the rankings registered valuation growth. Hurun India Founder and Chief Researcher Anas Rahman Junaid stated that the divergence between sectors reflected changing market dynamics, with segments linked to consumer spending recording gains while those associated with developer financing weakened. Residential companies, which account for nearly half of the rankings, declined around 16% in valuation, while commercial real estate companies fell 14%. In contrast, retail valuations increased 8%, and hospitality expanded to a combined valuation of INR 2.85 lakh crore, supported by Prism's growth and the listing of ITC Hotels.
The report also highlighted the presence of women leaders in the hospitality sector, with The Lalit Chairperson Jyotsna Suri featuring among the leading women executives and Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Chairperson Priya Paul ranking second in the category.
