Fibromat (M) Bhd has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, MTS Fibromat (M) Sdn. Bhd., has accepted a road construction subcontract in Sarawak with an estimated contract value of MYR 140 million. The Letter of Award was accepted recently, adding another infrastructure project to the group's order book.
The subcontract was awarded by Hexatrend Sdn. Bhd. and covers the construction of Jalan Akses ke Limpaku Pinang in Limbang, Sarawak. The project is scheduled for completion by June 11, 2029, providing the company with long-term revenue visibility.
The scope of work includes the construction of approximately 13.9 kilometres of new roadway, a service road, three bridges equipped with solar-powered street lighting, drainage infrastructure, geotechnical engineering works, installation of road furniture, utility relocation and environmental protection works. The project is aimed at improving accessibility and transport connectivity in the Limbang Division while supporting regional economic growth.
Following the award of the subcontract, Fibromat's outstanding order book has increased to approximately MYR 495 million. The expanded order book is expected to provide healthy earnings visibility for the group over the next three years as it continues to strengthen its presence in Malaysia's infrastructure and civil engineering sector.
The latest contract adds to Fibromat's portfolio of infrastructure projects, with the company continuing to participate in road construction and civil engineering works across Malaysia. The award also reflects ongoing investments in transport infrastructure, particularly in Sarawak, where road connectivity remains a key focus under the state's development plans.
