Serene Communities by Columbia Pacific, a brand of Lifebridge Group, has announced its entry into Mysuru with the launch of Serene Sagara, an independent senior living project being developed in partnership with real estate developer Astor. The development, located in Shyadanahalli, will be built with an investment of more than INR 80 crore and marks the company's expansion into another Tier II residential market.
The project spans approximately 2.02 acres and comprises 112 residences in a Ground plus eight-floor residential development. According to the developer, Serene Sagara has been designed specifically for independent senior living, with residences planned to maximise natural light, ventilation and privacy. The homes will incorporate senior-friendly features, including anti-skid flooring and smooth, edge-free finishes, while selected first-floor apartments will include extended private terraces.
The community will also include a 15,000 sq ft clubhouse offering facilities for wellness, recreation, dining and social interaction, designed to cater to the requirements of senior residents.
The project is being developed in collaboration with Astor, a Mysuru-based developer with an 85-year presence in the city. Named after the Krishnaraja Sagara (KRS), the development draws inspiration from Mysuru's planned urban character and natural surroundings.
The project was launched in the presence of Vikram Muttanna, Managing Editor of Academy Newspapers Pvt. Ltd., along with Rajagopal G. and Dr Reema Naig from Lifebridge Group, and Hanumanth Rao and Abhinav representing Astor.
Rajagopal G., Co-founder, Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Lifebridge Group, said the company's expansion into Mysuru reflects its expectation that future growth in India's senior living sector will increasingly come from Tier II cities. He stated that Mysuru's healthcare ecosystem, infrastructure and quality of life make it well suited for senior living developments, adding that the project will offer a professionally managed living environment supported by preventive healthcare services, round-the-clock care and access to medical assistance.
C. R. Hanumanth, Managing Partner of Astor, said the partnership responds to increasing demand for dedicated senior living communities in Mysuru, driven by changing family structures and a growing number of senior citizens whose children reside in metropolitan cities or overseas. He added that the collaboration combines Astor's local market presence with Serene Communities' operational expertise in senior housing to deliver an independent, maintenance-managed residential environment.
According to the company, Serene Communities currently manages more than 2,000 homes across 11 operational senior living communities serving over 2,700 residents. The brand has an existing presence in Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Puducherry and Kanchipuram, while it is also expanding into Kochi, Pune, Hyderabad and Mysuru as demand for professionally managed senior housing continues to grow across India.
